Moluccan producer and DJ, JAEL, returns with a bass-driven anthem, ‘D33P’, set for release on November 29th via Mena Muria Records. To celebrate, JAEL has announced a highly anticipated all-night event at Village Underground, with tickets selling out fast.
Expanding his sound into darker, bass-heavy territory, ‘D33P’ marks a shift from the R&B and neo-soul vibes of previous hits like ‘Take You There’ (4.8M streams) and his 2021 album Half As Much. The track ventures into dubstep and halftime beats, blending sub-heavy basslines, sharp high-energy breaks, and choppy, distorted vocals, resulting in a powerful club-ready banger.
The single serves as the lead track from JAEL’s forthcoming EP of the same name. This new project dives deeper into UK bass genres, exploring leftfield garage and cinematic melodies while pushing boundaries with innovative soundscapes. JAEL describes the EP as “a cocktail of Garage, 140 bpm, and deep Bass that taps back into the roots of my electronic sound.”
JAEL’s rich musical background—spanning Moluccan folk, gospel, soul, and Japanese funk—continues to shape his eclectic approach. His ability to merge diverse influences with electronic beats has made him a standout figure on the global music stage, from collaborations with Juls, Wizkid, and Agent Sasco on ‘Close to Me Together’, to headline performances at Boiler Room Festival (AMS) and O2 Brixton.
With a reputation for electrifying live sets and a monthly Rinse FM show, CAROUSEL JAEL, the Amsterdam-based producer continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Following standout tours in South Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, ‘D33P’ is poised to elevate JAEL’s legacy even further.
JAEL’s ‘D33P’ drops November 29th on all platforms. Pre-save now and catch him live at Village Underground for an unforgettable night.
