With shows canceled through the rest of summer, many in the music industry are suffering. This includes the talented regional, up-and-coming DJs that were banking on these gigs to help grow their music and brand. Insomniac, though, is offering a way to give those producers a voice.
The Insomniac Discovery Project was created to find and cultivate the scene’s untapped talent. According to their site, the platform “strives to bring today’s fresh faces to light through editorial exposure, performance competitions, and a unique artist collective.” Furthermore, those who are selected as Discovery Project participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage at Insomniac festivals and gain full access to their online portal. The portal contains valuable resources geared to creators of all types.
This casting call, which opened on April 29th, is looking for DJs to submit 25-30 minute long video sets that will then be streamed during the virtual EDC Las Vegas Rave-A-Thon in May. The application deadline is Friday, May 8th so make sure to act fast if you want to be considered. Insomniac hopes that producers will get creative by showcasing their stage presence or adding props and visuals.
