It’s official. The party all Mau5trap fans have been waiting for has been announced. Break out the Mau5 heads and Coronas because Joel Zimmerman, AKA Deadmau5/TESTPILOT has gone and done it again. After a whirlwind tour just finishing in New York City at Brooklyn’s famed Avant Gardner for Cube 3.0 a few weeks ago, the news came after a snub from Ultra Music Festival where Mau5 fans everywhere were in disbelief that his namesakes were not included on the festival lineup. You know, it isn’t like he’s helped them out in the past or anything. (Cue the eye roll emoji).
By now, I’m sure you are all familiar with Deadmau5’s extensive catalog and hopefully have had a chance to see him play on his illustrious cube. I’ve been blessed to see every iteration of the cube up through V3.0 and I must say, it is quite a sight to behold.
Although the Cube V3 has been retired (likely to make way for another version later on) you certainly won’t want to miss out on this beautiful lineup that just released for Mau5trap Presents Miami Music Week. Showcasing the best of the best on the Mau5trap label Blackgummy, i_0, No Mana, Moguai, Sian, Speaker Honey, Kindred, and C.H.A.Y.
What most people haven’t had the absolute pleasure of seeing is Joel doing as Joel does best: Techno. A self-proclaimed superfan, I have been to almost every TESTPILOT festival set and countless after parties since he announced he would be fucking shit up and progressing into the genre as TESTPILOT. I was blessed enough to attend Movement 2017 where he officially debuted his harder alter ego.
There is no Techno set like an expertly curated TESTPILOT set. He truly has found his own unique brand and genre within the deep, dark warehouses that he seemingly enjoys playing the most. You can implicitly tell his absolute gratification behind the decks.
The lineup for TESTPILOT dropped and it is FANTASTIC! I for one can’t wait for another stellar set from Rinzen, as well as Nastia, Wehbba, Sita Abellan, and a rare b2b with Testpilot and Nic Fanciulli! Grab your tickets for both shows above. I’ll see you on the dancefloor.
