Building on the excitement of its First Contact announcement, Iceland Eclipse has unveiled its Second Contact programming, adding a new wave of artists, visionaries, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences to its 2026 edition. From August 12–15, 2026, under Iceland’s final total solar eclipse until the year 2196, the intimate gathering will unite just 3,333 guests for a transformative celebration of music, art, science, and culture set among the glaciers, volcanic craters, beaches, and waterfalls of Hellissandur.

On the artistic side, new additions include Arc De Soleil, multi-genre producer East Forest, and comedian-musician Reggie Watts, joined by filmmaker Amélie Ravalec. Cross-disciplinary highlights feature pioneering technologist Imogen Heap; Dr. Rick Doblin, founder of MAPS; Shaig Abduragimov and Anouk Muis of OpenAI; FashionTech innovator Anouk Wipprecht; space architect Phnam Bagley; psychotherapist and author Jessica Fern; and volcanologist Dr. Robin George Andrews.

Local artistry takes the spotlight with performances by Hjaltalín and experimental collective TRPTYCH, alongside contributions from architect Magnús Albert Jensson, painter Bjarni Sigurbjörnsson, and textile artist Ragnheiður Guðmundsdóttir.

They join a groundbreaking lineup already featuring MEDUZA³, Berlioz, Daði Freyr, Booka Shade, Nightmares on Wax, Emiliana Torrini, and GusGus, alongside astronauts from NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, and cultural leaders from the United Nations, Citizen’s Foundation, Eden Foundation, and more.

To deepen the experience, Iceland Eclipse introduces limited-capacity Side Quests. Into the Lava Cave takes 50 guests into the legendary Vatnshellir lava tube for an acoustic performance. Inside the Glacier offers 100 attendees a rare journey into Langjökull’s crystalline chambers. Totality at the Waterfall guides guests to Svöðufoss for a breathtaking eclipse-viewing moment with live music. Additional excursions include kayaking by Kirkjufell, crater treks, glacier hikes, and ATV rides, while curated multi-day tours extend the magic with Silfra diving, volcano flights, and South Coast explorations.

The festival experience is designed around four pillars: DANCE, uniting international and Icelandic acts beneath the midnight sun; LEARN, featuring scientists, futurists, and thinkers pushing boundaries from AI to space; CONNECT, in partnership with Cosmic Pineapple, offering yoga, meditation, and sound healing; and EXPLORE, co-created with ReWilding Iceland, immersing participants in Snæfellsnes’s raw landscapes through saunas, cold plunges, and guided expeditions.

For creators, the Innovation Residency (July 19–August 15, 2026) will host artists, technologists, and visionaries to co-create projects inspired by the eclipse and present them during the festival itself.

With its Second Contact announcement, Iceland Eclipse continues to evolve as a landmark convergence of creativity, exploration, and cosmic wonder. For four unforgettable days and two minutes of total darkness, it will mark one of the most extraordinary festival moments of a generation.
