From August 12–15, 2026, the inaugural Iceland Eclipse Festival will bring together more than 100 artists, speakers, and visionaries for a transformative four-day celebration in Hellissandur, Iceland—timed to coincide with one of the longest total solar eclipses in the world. At 17:45 UTC on opening day, totality will sweep across the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, delivering over two minutes of awe-inspiring darkness against the region’s volcanic landscapes and ocean vistas. This rare event will not return to Iceland until 2196, setting the stage for an unforgettable convergence of music, ceremony, and exploration.

Leading the first wave of international music talent is Grammy-nominated Italian powerhouse MEDUZA³, joined by melodic techno pioneers Booka Shade, downtempo luminary Nightmares on Wax, and acclaimed selectors Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. Representing Iceland’s vibrant soundscape are electronic-pop innovators GusGus, celebrated vocalist Emilíana Torrini, Eurovision favorite Daði Freyr, rising alt-pop star gugusar, reggae icons Hjálmar, and dream pop ensemble Vök. The lineup also features Zero 7 (DJ Set), RJD2, Ali Love, and many more, ensuring a genre-spanning soundtrack from daylight to twilight.

Beyond the music, the festival’s LEARN program will host astronauts, scientists, technologists, and cultural leaders exploring frontiers from space travel to AI ethics. Confirmed speakers include astronauts Dr. Sian Proctor, Dr. Jeanette Epps, and Ron Garan, neurosurgeon and consciousness researcher Dr. Jordan Amadio, and creative technologist Richelle Ellis. The CONNECT program, curated in partnership with Cosmic Pineapple, will offer yoga, meditation, indigenous wisdom teachings, and nightly fire ceremonies led by international and Icelandic healers, alongside intimate performances from renowned medicine musicians.

The EXPLORE program invites festival-goers into Iceland’s elemental beauty with nature expeditions, sauna rituals, cold plunges, and cultural storytelling guided by local conservationists and artists. Guests can choose from tent camping, glamping, and private stays, all within striking distance of Snæfellsjökull National Park and the Perseids meteor shower, which peaks during the festival.

In the lead-up to the main event, the Builders’ Residency (July 19 – August 15) will gather a curated group of creators for a month-long innovation lab, producing works inspired by Iceland’s landscapes and the eclipse itself. Applications for the residency are open through the end of 2025.

Co-created by IMXP and Secret Solstice, the Iceland Eclipse Festival blends world-class performance with purposeful gathering, guided by sustainability and community collaboration. Supporting initiatives like EarthPercent, the festival embraces a “leave no trace” ethos while offering one of the most extraordinary festival experiences on Earth—or under the shadow of the Moon.
