Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland — Iceland Eclipse has unveiled its Fourth Contact programming, announcing a new wave of artists, speakers, and immersive experiences while expanding the festival to five days, now taking place August 11–15, 2026 on Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
Timed around Iceland’s last total solar eclipse until 2196, the gathering merges music, art, science, wellness, and exploration within one of the world’s most dramatic natural landscapes. Set against glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, and black sand beaches, the experience is intentionally intimate—limited to 3,333 participants—creating a unique environment where global artists, scientists, explorers, and cultural leaders come together to celebrate one of nature’s rarest cosmic phenomena.
New Participants Announced
The Fourth Contact lineup expands the festival’s diverse programming across music, learning, and community experiences. New additions to the DANCE program include Maribou State (Live), AWARË, Quantic (DJ Set), Freedom Fighters, Desert Hearts, Justin Sloe (Droog), ANNA, Ella Knight, and Snow Raven.
They join an already wide-ranging lineup featuring Imogen Heap, Reggie Watts, Arc De Soleil, East Forest, CloZee, Ida Engberg, Kenny Dope, Nick Warren, Ryan Crosson, Dave Clarke, Nightmares on Wax, Booka Shade (Live), Zero 7 (DJ Set), Emiliana Torrini, GusGus, berlioz, MEDUZA³, and Daði Freyr.
Beyond music, the LEARN and CONNECT programs bring together astronauts, scientists, technologists, and cultural leaders from organizations including NASA, ESA, Space for Humanity, the United Nations, OpenAI, and the Iceland Space Agency. Newly announced participants include filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, futurist Carl Hayden Smith, visionary artist Amanda Sage, comedian Brent Pella, and meditation teacher Emily Fletcher.
A New Welcome Ceremony
To deepen the communal experience, Iceland Eclipse will now begin on the evening of August 11 with a special Welcome Ceremony designed to gather attendees as a global community before the eclipse itself.
The evening will open with an Icelandic elder sharing the mythology of the land alongside traditional Icelandic musicians. Hosted by Unify.org, the ceremony will conclude with a music performance by AWARË, setting an intentional tone for the days ahead. Due to the remote nature of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, guests are encouraged to arrive by August 11 to ensure they are present for the total solar eclipse on August 12.
Eclipse Meditation Symphony
One of the festival’s most anticipated moments will unfold during the Eclipse Ceremony, taking place in the Cosmic Connection Garden, an open-air setting surrounded by trees with a clear view of the sky during totality.
More than 15 live musicians and a choir of 30 voices will guide participants through a 45-minute ceremonial journey during the eclipse. The performance blends music, guided visualization, and ritual elements inspired by Icelandic mythology.
The ceremony will be hosted by Patrick Kronfli of Unify and Isis Indriya of The Academy of Oracle Arts, featuring performances from Poranguí, Snow Raven, Tina Rodriguez, Ruby Chase, local Icelandic musicians, and a collective of ceremonial singers. The experience culminates in a silent moment as the total solar eclipse forms overhead before transitioning into sound healing and a dance set led by Poranguí.

Introducing the Starseeds Program
In 2026, Iceland Eclipse will also introduce Starseeds, a dedicated space designed for young explorers and their families. The zone will offer a vibrant environment filled with creative workshops, puppet shows, imaginative play areas, movement sessions, and special performances by festival artists.
The program provides children with a safe and inspiring space to explore creativity while becoming part of the broader festival community.
The Portal Residency Returns
Running July 19 through August 15, 2026, The Portal at Iceland Eclipse will once again serve as a month-long residency leading up to the festival.
Part innovation lab and part immersive retreat, The Portal brings together artists, technologists, scientists, and cultural innovators to collaborate on projects inspired by both the solar eclipse and Iceland’s dramatic landscape. Through workshops, collaborative studios, and excursions into the surrounding environment, participants co-create artistic and cultural experiments that will ultimately debut during the festival itself.
Building Toward Totality
As the event approaches, Iceland Eclipse will continue expanding its interdisciplinary programming across music, education, wellness, and exploration. The gathering will culminate on August 12, when attendees witness the total solar eclipse from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, followed by several days of performances, talks, ceremonies, and guided excursions across the surrounding landscapes.
Blending cosmic wonder with cultural exchange, Iceland Eclipse aims to create a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of music, science, and human connection beneath one of the rarest celestial events visible from Earth.
