Two dance music titans, HUGEL and Diplo, are shaking up the scene with their highly anticipated collaboration, “Forever (feat. Malou & Yuna)”, available worldwide on September 20 via Insomniac Records and Diplo’s Higher Ground. The track has been buzzing across the internet as an ID and is set to be a showstopper. To celebrate the release, HUGEL and Diplo will perform together at the Brooklyn Mirage on September 22.
“Forever” is a stunning afro house masterpiece, centered around an emotional topline that explores the eternal connection of a first love. The track flows with hypnotic circular piano chords, tribal drums, bright percussive elements, and a deep, driving bassline. Diplo generated early excitement for the song when he used it in a viral Instagram Reels post, capturing his trek up Mt. Fuji, which has racked up over 4.6 million views.
Speaking about the track, HUGEL shares, “The original version of ‘Forever’ by Adventure Club was an anthem at Ultra Music Festival 2014, my first time performing there. This track has held so many memories for me, and when I was looking for a sample to reimagine, I realized no one had turned this into a house track. So, I went for it. Malou introduced the demo to Diplo, and after a few rounds of testing—including at Diplo’s Antarctic set—we knew it was ready.”
Known for pioneering the Latin House movement with his hit “Morenita”, HUGEL blends global sounds like Latin, Oriental, and tribal rhythms to craft unique, movement-inducing tracks.
