New Jersey-based producer, DJ, and music executive Junior Sanchez has just unveiled his full LP, Songprints Vol. 1, on London’s D4 D4NCE label.
Following a string of successful releases on D4 D4NCE, including collaborations like “So Hype” with GRAMMY Award-winning artist Mýa, “Weekend Vibes” featuring MIKE DEAN and Lee Wilson, and “Speed It Up” with Lauren Hashian, Junior Sanchez now delivers the complete LP, led by the fourth and final single, “I Need More,” featuring American gospel singer Darlene McCoy. This dynamic album also boasts collaborations with top-tier talent like Stacey Barthe, Dawn Richard, Rex Evans, Johnny Apollo, and Cookiee Kawaii. Each track on Songprints Vol. 1 not only highlights Sanchez’s exceptional ability to amplify world-class vocalists but also showcases his expansive production expertise across a wide range of electronic genres—a testament to his decades-long career in the music industry.
“Songprints Vol. 1 is a project that’s been inside my soul for a long time,” says Sanchez. “Executive produced by the legendary Dallas Austin, this album represents resilience and creativity, crafted during the pandemic between Atlanta and New York. It’s packed with a stellar lineup of artists and friends, including Mýa, whose smooth vocals add an R&B vibe; Mike Dean’s synth wizardry, which brings sonic depth; Lauren Hashian’s songwriting that takes us back to a golden era of dance music; and contributions from Stacey Barthe, Dawn Richard, Cookiee Kawaii, and Darlene McCoy. We also introduce new artists like Rex Evans, Johnny Apollo, and Lee Wilson, making this album a masterclass in songwriting and house music production. My goal was to blend the essence of each artist with my signature house beats to create something unforgettable.”
Sanchez’s production style, heavily influenced by the underground house scene of NYC, has led him to collaborate with and remix for some of the biggest names in music. As a founding member of the Da Mongoloids collective, alongside artists like Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, A-Trak, Basement Jaxx, and Armand Van Helden, and later forming “The S-Men” with DJ Sneak and Roger Sanchez, Junior Sanchez has been at the forefront of global house music for over two decades. Add in his credits with Azealia Banks, Katy Perry, Good Charlotte, and Green Velvet, as well as remixes for Daft Punk, Madonna, Shakira, and Ariana Grande, and it’s clear that his influence in music is vast and enduring.
Songprints Vol. 1 is available now on D4 D4NCE.
