Vancouver-born pianist and producer Hoang is set to release ‘Heartstrings,’ his debut album arriving January 31 via Lost In Dreams Records. Spanning ten emotionally charged tracks, the album blends melodic bass and dance-pop, offering a deeply personal reflection on love, loss, and growth through Hoang’s signature sound.
The album features heartfelt collaborations, including “Better Now” with Tampa-based producer VLCN and Los Angeles vocalist Casey Cook. The track explores the bittersweet realization that even the toughest moments can lead to better outcomes, with Cook’s emotive vocals soaring over lush guitar-driven synths, delicate piano melodies, stirring strings, and a gentle melodic bassline. VLCN’s signature touch adds a dynamic depth to the track, further cementing his reputation as a versatile force in modern dance music.
Sharing his excitement about the collaboration, VLCN says: “Mike [Hoang] and I have been friends for years and always wanted to do another song together after our first collaboration. I’m stoked that this track is coming out on his incredible album and can’t wait to join him on tour and play our new song out together.”
‘Heartstrings’ offers a diverse listening experience, with standout singles such as “Already Gone” with Danny Olson, the introspective “5 Years” featuring Dia Frampton, and the cinematic “Crashing Down” with raph—all resonating with fans for their honest storytelling and intricate production. The album also includes collaborations with niko rain, CHENDA, Oliver The Kid, and Britt Lari, each contributing to the project’s emotional richness and sonic diversity.
LA singer-songwriter Britt Lari reflects on working on the title track, saying: “This project was a very personal and emotional adventure for both of us. We were able to really connect through it, making the creative process flow effortlessly. I’m really grateful to Hoang and his team for having me on this, and I hope to work with them again soon!”

Nashville songwriter Daye shares insights into their track “Parachute”: “Creating with Hoang is always a heart-centered process. We got on a call and started talking about life—how precious it is and how unpredictable it can be. This song is about diving heart-first into life’s experiences with courage, despite the risks and uncertainties. It’s a reminder to trust the journey and cherish every moment, no matter how things unfold.”
Breaking down the meaning behind their collaboration, With Løve explains: “‘Kids Again’ is a heartfelt reflection on lost innocence, missing the simplicity of childhood, and the pain of watching someone you care about struggle while feeling powerless to help them.”
To bring ‘Heartstrings’ to life, Hoang is set to embark on a North American tour, with stops at renowned venues such as The Vermont Hollywood and Bowery Ballroom. Fans can expect an immersive experience that bridges the gap between his studio work and the raw energy of live performance. Complementing the release, Hoang will also unveil exclusive ‘Heartstrings’ jerseys as part of his commemorative merchandise collection.
‘Heartstrings’ marks a defining moment in Hoang’s career, encapsulating his unwavering dedication to translating personal experiences into music that strikes a universal chord. Through intricate production and emotional storytelling, the album stands as a powerful statement—one that invites listeners to embrace vulnerability and celebrate the beauty of transformation.
