Just in time for the height of the summer rave season, HI-LO unleashes a high-octane rework of Temper’s cult classic with “Work That Body,” out now via Armada Music. Channeling the raw energy of the 2001 original Hard Club Mix, HI-LO transforms the track into a thunderous modern techno anthem—built for both massive mainstages and gritty warehouse floors.
Driven by a rolling low-end groove, razor-sharp percussion, and a bold vocal hook chanting “Ain’t nothin’ but tutti-frutti, get on the floor if you’ve got that booty,” HI-LO’s version strikes a masterful balance between underground attitude and big-room energy. With its undeniable bounce and peak-time force, the rework has already made its mark in recent sets from global techno titans like Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens, and Eli Brown.
“I’ve been loving the resurgence of high-energy Trance, Hard House, Hard Groove, and Speed Garage in the last couple of years, which has been noticeable in my DJ sets and some of my releases as well,” says HI-LO. “When I heard Malugi—one of my favorite DJs—play the original ‘Work That Body’ during his Boiler Room debut, I just couldn’t resist updating it. After testing the track live, making countless tweaks, and getting incredible crowd reactions, I’m excited to finally share it.”
Originally released in 2001, Temper‘s “Work That Body” found new life on dancefloors thanks to Malugi‘s revival of the track in his set, inspiring HI-LO to infuse it with his signature modern techno style. The final product maintains the unfiltered, high-energy ethos of the early 2000s while injecting it with the cutting-edge polish that’s made HI-LO a favorite among tastemakers and ravers alike.
