Viral bass innovator HEYZ has teamed up with retro-inspired producer WODD for a bold reimagining of Justin Timberlake’s timeless hit “Sexy Back,” dropping October 22 via Kannibalen Records. The explosive collaboration injects the original’s sultry swagger with a modern, bass-fueled edge — fusing punchy stabs, gritty textures, and a rumbling low-end built to dominate festival stages around the world.
“WODD is honestly one of my favorite producers right now, so it was really fun to work on this sexy whomper stomper of a track with him,” says HEYZ. “It hits so hard live, and people have been after it for a while — we’re stoked to finally release it!”
Blending HEYZ’s signature bass energy with WODD’s genre-warping creativity, “Sexy Back” bridges the worlds of riddim, dubstep, and experimental bass, offering a high-impact, futuristic take on a pop classic. “I’ve always wanted to twist this track into something wild and wobbly,” adds WODD. “Teaming up with HEYZ on this one was perfect — we made it our own while keeping mad respect for the original.”
The release arrives ahead of one of HEYZ’s biggest career moments: his headlining debut at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on March 14, 2025, which will also mark the launch of LASER CAGE — a one-of-a-kind visual experience featuring one of the most elaborate laser productions the venue has ever hosted. Featuring support from Black Carl!, a surprise back-to-back set with Wiley, and a special opening performance, the event will showcase HEYZ’s commitment to community, creativity, and the bass scene that shaped him.
Following the success of his HEYZ’d and Confused EP, which surpassed 750,000 streams, HEYZ continues to establish himself as one of bass music’s most innovative and fast-rising names. With past appearances at major festivals like Lost Lands, his energetic sound and forward-thinking production have made him a standout in the modern bass movement.
Coinciding with the “Sexy Back” release, HEYZ will embark on his massive 30+ date North American headline tour, the HEYZ’d and Confused Tour, hitting top venues and festivals including North Coast, Dancefestopia, and Lost Lands.
