Rising Chinese-American DJ and producer HELANG is set to drop her daring new single, “From The Back”, on October 4th, providing an exciting glimpse into her forthcoming ‘Life Is Music’ EP, which is due out on October 25th under her own label, Dauntless Records.
Following the success of her critically acclaimed ‘Lovers of the Unknown‘ EP, “From The Back” represents a bold evolution in HELANG’s sound. With pulsating rhythms and ethereal tones, the track delivers an immersive sonic experience, pushing the boundaries of modern techno. Combining bold sound design with provocative experimentation, “From The Back“ stands as a testament to HELANG’s unique artistic vision and technical prowess.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, HELANG shares, “This one was inspired by that feeling you get when you see or think of your crush. It’s meant to be playful but empowering. It’s here to champion you as a human into creating your own reality and taking matters into your hands, on your own terms.”
The ‘Life Is Music’ EP features two tracks that highlight the multifaceted nature of HELANG’s artistry. As she explains, “The two tracks have a perfect juxtaposition between one another—while ‘From The Back’ is more sexy and badass, ‘Life Is Music’ is more emotional and vulnerable.”
Known for her dynamic performances, HELANG has shared stages with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Eric Prydz, Testpilot (Deadmau5), John Digweed, Camelphat, and Eli Brown. Her impressive track record includes releases on notable European labels such as Manual Music and Stress Records before launching her own imprint, Dauntless Records, in 2023.
