Australian multi-platinum artist Hayden James returns with a new single, ‘Patience,’ featuring English singer/songwriter Karen Harding, out now via Future Classic. This track is the fourth single from James’ upcoming third studio album, We Could Be Love, set for release on September 13.
In ‘Patience,’ Hayden James showcases his talent for crafting intimate yet high-energy originals that resonate both on and off the dance floor. The track features the vibrant vocals of Karen Harding, known for her work with Armand Van Helden, Purple Disco Machine, and Rudimental. Drawing inspiration from his 2019 hit ‘Just Friends,’ the song is driven by powerful bass lines and crisp percussion, perfectly complementing Harding’s tender love story. The heartfelt sentiments of ‘Patience’ permeate the entire album, highlighting James’ exceptional songwriting skills and his ability to convey relatable emotions. A euphoric anthem destined for club play, ‘Patience’ captures the vibrant and uplifting spirit that fans can expect from We Could Be Love.
“‘Patience’ feels like ‘Just Friends’ part two. It’s got the same vibe, with a similar storyline and big bass lines. I’ve truly returned to my classic HJ feel with this one. Karen is an incredibly talented songwriter, and it’s been amazing to work with her on ‘Patience’. Turn it up!” – Hayden James
“We wanted to capture that classic sexy melody with an emotional twist. It’s about falling in love with someone but taking it slow and asking for understanding. I feel like every section of the song takes you on such a journey that you gotta listen again to make sure you didn’t miss anything.” – Karen Harding
In addition to ‘Patience,’ Hayden James has revealed the tracklist for his upcoming album We Could Be Love. The album will feature previously released singles ‘Deep Diving’ with UK songstress SHELLS, ‘Make It’ with fellow Aussie producer Kormak, and the title track ‘We Could Be Love’ with electro-pop duo AR/CO. The album also includes new originals featuring British-Ethiopian singer-songwriter Izzy Bizu, LIFTED collaborator Tudor, multi-instrumental artist Ross Quinn, and more.
Since breaking out in 2013 with ‘Permission to Love,’ Hayden James has released platinum-certified hits like ‘Numb’ featuring GRAACE, and ‘Just Friends’. In 2023, he continued his streak with popular singles like ‘Do You Want Me’ with Bob Moses, ‘Beggin’ You’ with SAYGRACE, and ‘Nevermind’ with Jillian Loux.
We Could Be Love marks James’ third album, following his ARIA-nominated 2019 debut Between Us and 2022’s LIFTED. Earlier this year, James launched his Just Friends party series in Sydney in April, with a second edition held last month in Gold Coast. This fall, Hayden James will embark on his headline We Could Be Love Tour, supported by Laurence Guy and Kormak – tickets are available now.
