HARD Events, a key player in North America’s dance music scene, has officially launched HARD Selects, a new sub-brand designed to highlight the diversity and cultural richness of the global underground music community. This initiative seeks to honor Los Angeles’ DIY ethos and underground culture, which has long been a hidden gem within the global dance music landscape.
For years, Los Angeles has been a quiet yet significant contributor to underground dance music, often operating in DIY spaces far from the mainstream. HARD Selects aims to bring these sounds and scenes into the spotlight, focusing on authentic dancefloor experiences, pop-ups, and festival stages that reflect the global underground music scene’s cutting-edge and ever-evolving nature.
HARD has already started embracing this mission, curating a diverse lineup of artists across festivals, club nights, and releases under the HARD Records imprint. Recent efforts have featured artists such as Interplanetary Criminal, INVT, DJ Heartstring, Overmono, JYOTY, Panteros666, Bianca Oblivion, AK Sports, and Boys Noize.
In the coming weeks, HARD will announce a series of showcase events in collaboration with prominent Los Angeles underground promoters. These events will celebrate the innovative and shapeshifting sounds from the global music scene.
The first showcase in this series is Teenage Dreams, the party brand led by Berlin-based DJ Heartstring, which blends speedy club music with trance. Taking place on November 9, Teenage Dreams will feature an impressive lineup including AK SPORTS, Boys Noize, Malugi, Patrick Mason, and Skin on Skin. Additionally, LA local talent like Etari, Oscar Osorio, and OZA will join the bill. The event will be held at The SUPER-MRKT, a newly repurposed venue that was once a grocery store, now hosting an eclectic series of shows from September to November.
HARD Selects will also debut its universe through a series of DJ set streams in partnership with Goyo Club, a Los Angeles-based multi-media platform known for its innovative approach to electronic music. HARD will take over Goyo Club’s Electric Cleaners series, transforming a Koreatown laundromat into a space for music experimentation. Featured acts include Bianca Oblivion B2B Star Eyes, Trax Unit, and Etari.
Tickets for Teenage Dreams go on sale on Thursday, September 19th at 12 PM PST, with presale access for SMS subscribers starting at 11 AM PST. Sign up for the HARD Selects SMS list to be the first to hear about new shows, lineups, pop-ups + more at the link HERE.
