Celebrity Infinity will sail from Miami to Costa Maya, Mexico from January 9 – 13, 2020
Following the success of the sold-out Groove Cruise Miami 15th-anniversary celebration this month, Whet Travel is thrilled to announce the official dates and destination details for its 2020 East Coast sailing. By popular demand, the world’s premier floating electronic music festival sails again onboard the award-winning Celebrity Cruises’ Infinity. The #GCFam will be hitting the high seas from January 9 – 13, 2020 with a destination along the Caribbean coast to Costa Maya, Mexico.
With more than 50 DJs, 96 hours of non-stop tunes, theme parties, and artist-led activities, Groove Cruise Miami is an unparalleled immersive experience. For reasons I won’t go into, I missed the boat this year, which means I didn’t get to dance to the likes of Kaskade, Jamie Jones, MK, Hot Since 82, Simon Patterson, and Green Velvet, amongst others. Groove Cruise always hosts the industry’s top DJ/producers, and I’m sure 2020’s sailing will be no different.

Groove Cruise 2019’s stop was Cozumel, and I didn’t think I could be more excited for a destination, but this one really blows it outta the water! Departing from Miami, the luxury ship will disembark on the white-sand beaches of Costa Maya, home to ancient Mayan temples and the second largest barrier reef in the world filled with mesmerizing exotic fish and adorable manatees. Captains can delve into the town’s culturally rich history with custom artist-led shore excursions to the Mayan ruins site of Chacchoben. In addition to a private beach party, attendees will have exclusive access to Mayá, an adventure theme park packed with ziplining and water slides before returning back to the festivities onboard. I’ll definitely be joining #TeamNoSleep on this one! Archaeological ruins, diving, and anything adrenaline-pumping are 3 of my favorite things in the world, right behind music and dancing.
Among the first passenger cruise vessels to be powered by smokeless turbine engines, the 2,170-passenger Celebrity Infinity is elegantly themed with its iconic three-level foyer grand staircase and sophisticated decor. Amenities include a casino, basketball court, jogging track (although I’ll be doing all of my jogging in the form of dancing and jumping up and down), indoor solarium, and main deck pool. Indulge in therapeutic onboard pampering treatments at the Canyon Ranch Spa (if you have time) or enjoy the remarkable Qsine specialty restaurant with 3D projection mapping technology.
Founded in 2004 by Whet Travel CEO Jason Beukema, Groove Cruise has delivered exceptionally unique music and travel experiences to guests from all over the world.
“I still vividly remember starting Groove Cruise 15 years ago with no money and 125 friends,” recalls Beukema. “Today, 32 sailings later, nearly 50,000 people have had their lives changed forever. To put a check mark on someone’s bucket list and create memories and relationships that will last a lifetime is what I live for.”
