Today, googly eyes announces her new EP, paint me like one of your fav american girls, set for release on March 13 via Pretty Swede, Neon Gold, and Virgin. Alongside the announcement, the rising electronic pop auteur shares a new single, “Bruises on the Peach,” accompanied by an atmospheric music video that mirrors the song’s emotional weight.

Hazy and intimate, “Bruises on the Peach” blends warped electronic textures with soft-focus pop melodies, balancing vulnerability with moments of euphoric release. Written alongside Tove Lo and Flume, and co-produced with Flume, the track drifts between bruised romance and emotional catharsis, pairing glossy synths with raw, diaristic storytelling.

Reflecting on the song’s meaning, googly eyes shares, “Bruises on the Peach is about vulnerability. To be known and loved deeply means sharing all your fears, insecurities, and pain points with someone. It’s a fragile ecosystem—you’re giving someone the blueprint to either wound you beyond repair or soothe your deepest hurts. That takes immense trust. It’s what makes love so precious to me, and this song is my way of speaking to that.

The EP continues a collaboration that began in September 2023, when Tove Lo and Flume issued an open call on Instagram seeking new artists. After reviewing thousands of submissions, googly eyes emerged as the standout choice. Nearly two years later, that creative partnership has yielded “Bruises on the Peach,” as well as earlier singles “I Don’t Go Out” and “Made Of,” both set to appear on the forthcoming EP.

Closing out 2025 on a high note, googly eyes earned major recognition when her track Jesus and John Wayne—a collaboration with Joy Oladokun and August Ponthier—was included on NPR’s 125 Songs of 2025 list, further solidifying her place as one of electronic pop’s most compelling new voices.

Operating at the intersection of alternative pop and electronic indie, googly eyes creates glitchy, technicolor songs that feel deeply personal and meticulously crafted. Until recently, her work was written, recorded, and produced entirely on her own, a process showcased on her 2024 debut Starlet EP and breakout singles “Mid-Leap,” “Internet Star,” and “Waste of Conversation.” With a sharp focus on vocal production, electronic experimentation, and poetic lyricism, she continues to build a sonic world entirely her own.

Made Of and I Don’t Go Out mark googly eyes’ latest releases on Pretty Swede Records, the independent label founded by Tove Lo in 2022. The label’s catalog includes Tove Lo’s 2023 album Dirt Femme and her 2024 collaborative HEAT EP with SG Lewis, with Starlet EP standing as the first non–Tove Lo project released through the imprint.

In partnership with Neon Gold—a label known for launching early releases from artists like Charli XCX, MARINA, Christine and the Queens, and Ellie GouldingPretty Swede continues to position googly eyes at the forefront of a new generation of boundary-pushing pop artists.

With paint me like one of your fav american girls arriving this March, googly eyes opens a new chapter defined by collaboration, emotional clarity, and an ever-expanding creative vision.
