Hard rock veterans Godsmack will release Live at Mohegan Sun on May 1, a powerful live album recorded during the band’s sold-out October 26, 2024 performance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The release captures the band at full force in front of a passionate New England crowd, documenting a landmark moment in the group’s long-running career. The album arrives via Primary Wave and is available for pre-order now, alongside the debut of the official live single and video for “When Legends Rise.”

The electrifying performance opens with “Surrender” and builds toward the thunderous finale of “I Stand Alone,” showcasing the precision and intensity that have defined Godsmack’s live reputation for decades. The setlist spans the band’s catalog, from powerhouse staples like “Awake” and “Cryin’ Like a Bitch!!” to emotional highlights including “Under Your Scars” and “You and I.”

The concert also marked a historic moment for the band, serving as the final performance from the classic lineup of vocalist-guitarist Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin following the decision by Rombola and Larkin to retire. Rather than feeling like a farewell, the night evolved into a celebration of the band’s legacy—one defined by more than 20 million albums sold, 27 Top 10 singles, and 13 No. 1 hits.

“You guys have no idea how special a show this is for you tonight,” Sully Erna told the crowd early in the performance. “Are we ready to fucking party? Are we ready to go faster, louder, harder?” Reflecting on the finished recording, Erna added, “I’ve cried several times watching this thing, but it’s a happy emotion, filled with a sense of accomplishment.”

While the performance closed one chapter, Erna emphasizes that it does not mark the end of Godsmack. “It was just closing one chapter and welcoming whatever the new version of our career may be,” he explained.

That next phase begins with the Rise of Rock World Tour 2026, launching May 10 in Bristow, Virginia with special guests Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy. The tour includes major festival appearances such as Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, WMMR’s MMRBQ in Camden, New Jersey, and Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, before continuing through North America and European festivals including Tallinn Rock Festival, Hills of Rock, Rockstadt Extreme Fest, Leyendas del Rock, Reload Festival, and Vagos Metal Fest. The band will also headline the 20th anniversary of Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma over Labor Day weekend.

Adding to the celebration, 2026 will also see the worldwide release of Awake (25th Anniversary Edition), honoring the album that helped elevate Godsmack into rock’s upper echelon. The expanded edition features bonus material including a new mix of “Why” and a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf.”

For Erna, Live at Mohegan Sun stands as a testament to the connection between the band and its fans. “The music is what dictates the career, and the music always comes first,” he says. “Our music is bigger than who we are as individuals.”

Available on digital formats as well as double vinyl, Blu-ray, and CD, Live at Mohegan Sun captures not only a defining performance but also the emotion and brotherhood of a band reflecting on decades of shared history—ending the night with the four members locking arms for a final bow before stepping into the next era of Godsmack.
