Glassio Releases Hypnotic Electronic Cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City”

by Press Release

London-based indie-electronic meets pop artist Glassio unveils a captivating reinterpretation of Bruce Springsteen’s classic Atlantic City, reimagining the track as a hypnotic, electronic-chill anthem designed for the dancefloor. Featuring candy-coated synthesizers, lush, groovy instrumentation, and warm, emotive vocals, Glassio’s rendition merges organic sounds with digital textures, delivering an immersive listening experience.

“This is my melancholy-disco take on Bruce Springsteen’s acoustically-produced track Atlantic City, a song about desperation and one last chance,” shares Glassio. “I feel like many of us are feeling this way with the world at large. I wanted to realize this song with the modern day in mind.”

Glassio, led by Irish-Persian musician Sam R., has become a prominent indie-electronic outfit over the past seven years, blending influences from Big Beat to Chamber Pop and New Wave. Born in Sharjah, in the Middle East, and Monterey, California, Sam’s early musical exposure to albums like Pet Sounds and Graceland deeply inspired his creative process. “It was that juxtaposition of hearing Brian Wilson’s harmonies in a very barren, desert/Arabian landscape that I think planted the seeds for my love for making music that mixes different influences and challenges associations you might have with certain instruments,” he explains.

Glassio’s rise began with his 2016 debut EP, Poptimism, which achieved viral success, with lead single Try Much Harder peaking at No. 9 on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts. Subsequent releases, including the Age of Experience EP and his 2020 full-length album For The Very Last Time, earned him over 7 million streams and critical acclaim from platforms like Bandcamp, which named it one of the best electronic albums of the year. His sophomore album See You Shine continued his success, charting No. 1 on multiple iTunes charts worldwide, with tracks featured in Amazon Studios’ Don’t Make Me Go and Netflix’s Locke & Key.

Glassio recently opened for Nada Surf in November, building anticipation for his third album, set for release in 2025. His reinterpretation of Atlantic City not only captures the timeless sentiment of Springsteen’s original but also breathes new life into the track, making it both reflective and dancefloor-ready.
