Gettoblaster | Two Men After Our Own House Hearts | #MCM

by The Freaks - Staff

I love to do epic shit with my friends. Especially when that friend is Paul Anthony of Gettoblaster. I have always loved ghetto house, or booty house, and can remember shaking my thang to DJ Funk more times than I can count. When I first watched Paul Anthony play, it was a reminder of the style that was, and that still sounds current today. Our Man Crush Monday this week is Gettoblaster’s Paul Anthony and Zach Bletz.

Watching a true pioneer like Paul on the decks gets me grooving any time, and after witnessing the pairing of he and Zach as Gettoblaster at North Coast in 2018, I couldn’t be more thrilled to see their meteoric rise after so many years of hitting the decks and playing across the Midwest. It is amazing to witness such a wonderful talent and legend continue to see accolades in house music across the board… House heads never had any doubt. After all, they swung through Indianapolis in 2014… complete with all my favorite midwest Dj’s as support. It’s not every day you wake up to watch your inspirational DJ’s become legendary in real time.

Gettoblaster entered the house music scene in 2014 and has been a force to be reckoned with ever since. With house and techno roots, this duo hailing from Chicago and Detroit has a distinct style while protecting the true essence of house music. If you haven’t seen them yet, you need to mark your calendars for a tour stop near you. Legit disco vibes.

Gettoblaster has had an incredible year! Starting the year out with an explosive collaboration with DJ Funk on Claude Vonstroke’s infamous Dirtybird Records. This has received massive support from Claude Vonstroke , Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier , Shiba San, Danny Howard (on BBC Radio1) , Jauz, Sonny Fodera, Eli Brown, Erick Morillo, Weiss, Bruno Furlan, Dennis Ferrer, A-Trak, Claptone, Martin Solveig. As if that momentum wasn’t exciting enough, following this chart-buster, with a collaboration on EDM house star Tchami’s label Confession, with Gettoblaster and Spinstyle aptly named “Dat Booty” breaking top 10 on Beatport Bass House Top 100 chart.

Heading to Spring Awakening next weekend? With a dynamic live DJ show, the duo is set to play The Solstice Stage at Spring Awakening this week among the worlds finest DJ / Producers the stage consists of Gettoblaster, alongside other legends Martin Garrix, Dillon Frances, Troyboi, Chris Lake, GTA, Gene Farris, Kid Enigma & Ed Nine! Action packed from beginning to end is what you can expect from these absolute OG’s straight up KILLING THE GAME.

Wondering what you might hear in their set? They have some exciting new music coming out. The will be featured on Shiba San’s Basement leak is giving us a treat with Gettoblaster & Friends EP, Tommie Sunshine’s Label Brooklyn Fire3 will feature Gettoblaster “Afters” featuring Missy, and finally one of my absolute favorite artists Patrick Toppings label Trick is featuring DJ Deeon & Gettoblaster – 302 which is going to be one wild ride from start to finish. These boys came to play.

Other than what is obviously going to be one incredible We Jack set that will get your booty moving at Spring Awakening next weekend, you can catch Gettoblaster at these upcoming dates:
