Elusive French producer Gesaffelstein has announced his forthcoming live album Enter The Gamma, set for release on January 23, 2026. Marking a pivotal moment in his career, the project stands as his first official live album, capturing the raw intensity of his recent performances. Alongside the announcement, Gesaffelstein has shared “OPR (live),” a stark and immersive cut taken directly from the album.
A long-time admirer of painter Pierre Soulages, Gesaffelstein draws inspiration from the idea that black is not an absence, but a surface through which light reveals itself. That philosophy is embedded at the core of Enter The Gamma, where sound functions as a luminous shadow, stripped back and sculpted with precision.
Recorded during the globally acclaimed Enter The Gamma World Tour, the album presents the set exactly as it was performed, with no embellishment or reconstruction. Loud, sharp, and meticulously controlled, the recordings reflect a tour that cut through major festivals around the world. The run debuted at Coachella and included appearances at Ultra, Portola, EDC, We Love Green, Les Vieilles Charrues, Summer Sonic, VAC, Palomosa, Lido, Rosendal, Audioriver, and Tecate Pa’l Norte, alongside three sold-out headline shows at Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Radius in Chicago, and Brooklyn Mirage in New York. Across each stop, the performances sharpened into a kind of electronic ritual, where rhythm and shadow converged in a space between violence and grace.
Enter The Gamma follows 2024’s Gamma, a studio album that marked a turning point for Gesaffelstein, introducing lyrics for the first time in his catalog. Written and performed by Yan Wagner, the album leaned into minimalist structures and emotional restraint, signaling a refined evolution in his sound.

A singular presence in contemporary electronic music, Gesaffelstein has long been regarded as one of the genre’s most formidable live performers. Early in his career, he became known as the chain-smoking figure in a black suit delivering ferocious club sets. Over time, that image transformed into the chrome-masked silhouette suspended in beams of light, reinforcing his reputation for immersive, uncompromising performances.
Since emerging in the early 2010s, Gesaffelstein has helped define the intersection of techno, industrial music, and contemporary art. His 2013 album Aleph laid the foundation for that vision, pairing architectural sound design with brutal elegance. Its breakout single “Pursuit” became a global anthem, opening the door to high-profile collaborations with A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd, including work on My Dear Melancholy. That trajectory continued with 2019’s Hyperion, featuring The Weeknd, HAIM, and Pharrell Williams, where signs of further artistic transformation began to surface.
In recent years, Gesaffelstein has expanded his reach once again, collaborating with Lil Nas X and Charli XCX, co-writing multiple tracks on BRAT, before joining forces with Lady Gaga following years of mutual admiration. Their first collaboration on Mayhem resulted in four tracks, “Killah,” “Garden of Eden,” “Perfect Celebrity,” and “Blade of Grass,” blending his severe, sensual production style with her theatrical scale. His remix of “Abracadabra” earned his first GRAMMY nomination for Best Remixed Recording at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards.
With Enter The Gamma, Gesaffelstein distills his live vision into its purest form, offering a document of sound, shadow, and controlled intensity. “OPR (live)” is available now, with full album details to follow as the release approaches.
