Sibling duo Frost Children have released their latest single, “WHAT IS FOREVER FOR,” the third preview from their upcoming album SISTER, due out September 12th via True Panther / Dirty Hit. Premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Jack Saunders, the track arrives with an evocative music video directed by Angel Prost of Frost Children, starring Angelina Hoffman.
A shimmering slice of bittersweet euphoria, “WHAT IS FOREVER FOR” captures the fleeting beauty of the moment. Speaking on the track, Angel shared, “I like the imagined scenario of a romantic on-and-off fling in a faraway place demonstrating some kind of disregard for Forever… You shouldn’t force Forever or stretch a moment any longer than it happens — the sudden pause is what makes the party obsessional.”
The single follows the release of “Falling”, accompanied by visuals from Lotus Blossom, and the assertive “CONTROL”, which opened the door to the SISTER era with a video directed by Ben Turok. The new album draws deep inspiration from the golden age of EDM and blog house that Angel and Lulu Prost grew up on in St. Louis, threading elements of emo, electro, and pop with emotional lyricism that explores co-dependence, change, and growth.
The result is a record that both celebrates and redefines the genre — a maximalist, nostalgic yet forward-thinking body of work that cements Frost Children as one of the most dynamic voices in experimental pop and dance music today. “This is so confidently what we love, and what we breathe,” says Lulu, highlighting the duo’s shared vision and “twin telepathy.”
From NYC nightlife to the global stage, Frost Children’s rise has been anything but conventional. Before their debut full-length even dropped, the pair were lighting up clubs and curating their own two-night event, Frost Fest, featuring the likes of Danny Brown, Lip Critic, and Feardorian. Their collaborative resume continues to grow, with recent projects alongside Porter Robinson, Fever Ray, Dorian Electra, Jane Remover, and Kim Petras, the latter of whom tapped the duo to produce her latest track “Freak It.”
Their past two albums — 2023’s high-octane SPEED RUN and the tender, acoustic-leaning Hearth Room — showcased their creative range. With SISTER, Frost Children marry both ends of that spectrum into their most personal, cohesive statement yet — an album that reimagines modern dance music with emotional intelligence and a punk spirit.
Fresh off festival sets at Primavera, Governors Ball, Summerfest, Piknic Electronik, and Pop Messe, the duo’s whirlwind global run continues. Upcoming stops include OFF Festival in Poland and Boiler Room in Vancouver alongside The Dare, Hudson Mohawke, and Avalon Emerson.
Listen to “WHAT IS FOREVER FOR”, pre-save SISTER, and catch Frost Children live as they bring their genre-warping vision to dance floors across the world. More news coming soon. Full round-up below, and tickets can be found HERE.
