The Chemical Brothers released their new disco-meets-synth single ‘Got To Keep On’ today! This marks the third single from their upcoming album, No Geography, which will be released April 12 on Astralwerks. Fans who pre-order the album will be able to download ‘Got To Keep On’, ‘MAH‘ and ‘Free Yourself’ right away.
NEW ALBUM NO GEOGRAPHY OUT APRIL 12
No Geography marks a return to their roots for The Chemical Brothers. To record the album, the pair built a tiny makeshift room inside their studio that housed the kind of kit they had previously used to record the bulk of their first two albums; equipment that had sat gathering (freestyle) dust in Tom’s attic for the last 20 years. That experimental space offered a freedom, inspiring them to create music and tell their own story in a way they hadn’t done for years.
The album has an intentionally rough and unrefined sound. Many of the tracks were built around vocal samples, with voices and dialogue interwoven. Several tracks feature vocals by Norwegian singer / songwriter Aurora, who wrote and recorded parts in their studio in close collaboration with the band. Japanese rapper Nene features on the opening track, “Eve of Destruction.” Tom and Ed also dug deep into history, with many spoken word samples were taken from the late-60’s Dial-A-Poem project.
INTERNATIONAL TOUR STARTING IN MAY
The Brothers from Britain will take their psychedelic live show on tour in North America, with The Black Madonna joining as a special guest for US shows. Venues in the US will include LA shows at the Shrine Expo Hall on May 15 and The Greek on May 16, and a San Francisco show at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on May 17. The pair will also make stops in Mexico, headlining the Corona Capital Guadalajara Festival on May 11, as well as a sold-out show at the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City on May 12.
