French Horn Rebellion Releases Nostalgic New EP, Brothers, Exploring the Bond of Brotherhood and Themes of Toxic Masculinity

by Press Release

Indie electro-funk duo French Horn Rebellion has just released Brothers, a four-track EP that embodies the quirks and camaraderie of band members Robert and David Perlick-Molinari. Known for their genre-blending sound and playful rebellion against musical norms, the Milwaukee-born brothers reflect on their friendship, artistic journey, and upbringing in this deeply personal collection.

Brothers dives into important themes, including toxic masculinity, with Robert sharing that “being brothers, we sometimes hide from our feelings behind being ‘tough.’ But the bond of brothers is deep. When we get to the other side, I imagine our brothers will be the first to greet us in the afterlife with open arms.”

Since their 2007 beginnings, French Horn Rebellion (FHR) has carved out a unique space in indie and electronic music, combining dance-punk energy with French touch and electro-pop sensibilities. Their musical “rebellion” began when Robert, a former French horn major, teamed up with David, a seasoned producer who had worked on MGMT’s Time to Pretend EP. Their knack for blending sounds and creating memorable, danceable tracks has taken them across five continents and earned them collaborations with industry icons like Beyoncé, Sia, and Two Door Cinema Club. Major media outlets from The New York Times to Billboard have championed their work, while The Guardian dubbed their music “killer dance-pop.”

From their Brooklyn-based studio complex, YouTooCanWoo, the brothers continue to innovate, producing music, managing their alternative house and disco label toucan sounds, and hosting intimate events.

With Brothers, French Horn Rebellion invites fans to join their rebellion once again—bringing infectious grooves and thought-provoking themes to the dance floor. Whether you’re a long-time listener or a new recruit, this EP promises a nostalgic and heartfelt experience that celebrates the duo’s journey and the bond of brotherhood.
