LA-based DJ and producer Durante has unveiled the first remix from his debut album ‘Enter', crafted by British electronic artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
Hailing from Oxford, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) gained widespread acclaim with his 2012 debut album ‘Trouble'. Since then, he has released a string of successful tracks, including the recent collaborations ‘Heartbreak' with Bonobo and ‘Unfold' with Porter Robinson. Throughout his career, TEED has received praise from NME, Mixmag, and DJ Mag, and has been nominated for two GRAMMYs. In his remix of ‘Ancora,' TEED infuses the original melodic hook with a pulsing bassline and percussion-laden grooves, creating an uptempo, club-ready adaptation.
Originally from a small village near Florence, Durante (aka Kevin Durante) began his musical journey in 2006. His versatile sound, situated at the intersection of house and techno, has led to releases on labels such as Anjunadeep, Armada, W&O Street Records, Shall Not Fade, and Amtrac's Openers. Durante's work has garnered praise from prominent artists including Bonobo, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and Joris Voorn, and he has collaborated with Diplo & Aluna on ‘Forget About Me', Amtrac on ‘Gather', and 9th House on ‘Ruling Planet'. His remix portfolio includes tracks by Cassian, Booka Shade, and TWO LANES, among others.
In April 2024, 18 years after beginning his musical journey, Durante released his debut album, ‘Enter', on Anjunadeep. Inspired by the concept of portals and multiple dimensions, ‘Enter' showcases his eclectic sound influenced by artists like Duke Ellington, classic Italo-disco, and early Cocoon records.
“I've spent the past three years working on this album; it marks the beginning of many great endeavors in my life. It's a coming-of-age story, but it's also a reflection of the world around us. I'm happy to be able to share my emotions through music because the words escape me. Hopefully, you can find solace in the sound. Across 13 compelling tracks, Durante explores themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and love. The album features collaborations with Montréal-based producer and live act CRi, American vocalist Nathan Nicholson, Australian singer-songwriter Running Touch, Californian songstress and producer HANA, and London-based vocalist SOHN.
To date, ‘Enter' has amassed over 4 million streams and earned airplay on SiriusXM Chill, SiriusXM Diplo's Revolution, and BBC Radio 1. Esteemed DJs including Pete Tong, MEDUZA, Joris Voorn, and John Digweed have championed the album, while Mixmag Italy, Forbes Magazine, and Acid Stag have praised Durante's artistry.
