Firefly | Five Freaking Amazing Artists Not to be Missed

by The Freaks - Staff

With Firefly festival quickly approaching it can be confusing to decide which artists you should see, especially as this line up crosses many genres of music and has something for everyone. From alternative rock to hip-hop, you’ll be sure to get your musical fill this weekend. Right in the heart of Dover, Delaware, Firefly is sure to be an amazing weekend. Here is a list of artists that should totally be on your bucket list for next weekend, because they’re just awesome!

Nora En Pure – This South African DJ is one not to miss out on. While this is a tough one due to the conflict with DJ Snake, Nora will absolutely win your heart with her infectious House music vibes. It’ll be a smaller and more intimate setting regardless of being at a festival. Her music catalog speaks for itself with amazing tunes and groovy beats, she’ll be sure to have you moving your waistline with her set. Be sure to check her out on Sunday for the closing set at the Treehouse Stage from 10:30 – 11:45 P.M. Don’t forget to bring your best dancing shoes too to close the weekend just right!

Dashboard Confessional – The Alternative rock band Dashboard Confessional is a must for this weekend! If you played the Rock Band video game in your high school days, like me, you’ll be sure to remember jamming out to songs like Hands Down. They have also had their music featured in the soundtrack for the original Spider-Man 2 film with their song Vindicated, along with tracks from last years Crooked Shadows album. This performance will surely be filled with new and old alt-rock favorites., Don’t miss their Saturday set on The Lawn stage from 7:45-9:00 P.M.

Panic! At The Disco – How can anyone not be excited for this one? Panic! At The Disco is back on tour and I am so excited to be seeing them! I’ll be singing oldies from their debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out along with hopefully some of their newer tracks from Pray for the Wicked. With tracks like Nine in the Afternoon to I Write Sins Not Tragedies, i’ll be singing and jamming my heart out. Come karaoke with me! So call your Ma up and tell her you made it to Firefly festival, cause Panic! At The Disco will be closing out day one Main Stage on Friday from 11-12:30 P.M.

3lau – The dance music scene is known to be dominated by european DJs, it’s a breath of fresh air to get such a great American DJ/Producer to grace us at Firefly this year. 3lau is known as a big room DJ but his music catalog speaks for itself, from bangers to music for your mind and soul. Some of my personal favorites are On My Mind, Is It Love, Alive Again, How You Love Me and his latest single which is definitely my song of the summer, Better With You. Get ready to party hard for this one, 3lau will be taking over the Prism stage on Sunday from 5:30-6:30 P.M.

Kygo – This Norwegian DJ has been taking over your radio airwaves for the past couple of years, it would be surprising if you haven’t heard one of his songs at this point. His latest single  Carry On with British singer Rita Ora was featured in the new film Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Kygo’s live show will be sure to give you those tropical vibes you’re looking for this summer, if you’re looking for an idea on how this set will sound be sure to check out his remix of Cut Your Teeth and Miami 82. We’ll be stargazing the Delaware sky during his closing set at the Prism stage from 12:30-1:45 A.M. Don’t miss your chance to see this incredible and multi-talented performer.
