Atlanta’s FearDorian (He/Him) and Baltimore’s osquinn (She/Her) have cemented themselves as two of the underground’s most innovative producer-artist hybrids of the decade. After years of one-off collaborations and teasers, the longtime friends are officially joining forces for their highly anticipated album, Before You Press Play, arriving October 3rd via 3500.

Their latest release, “L Train Vintage,” offers a glimpse into the duo’s effortless chemistry. Recorded during a late-night session in osquinn’s apartment, the track pairs FearDorian’s sharp, brooding bars with osquinn’s melodic, confident delivery.

“This track was made in my old ass moldy apartment. Dorian came over the crib and we recorded 3 tracks that day—thione, duh, and bags. This one was my favorite though. Probably my best lyrical performance out of the 3. The lyrics don’t mean as much as my former stuff because a lot of this was just for fun. And fun was definitely had,” says osquinn. FearDorian adds, “One of my favorite tracks off the tape. Me & quinn’s synergy on the raps & production on this one is just a sneak peek into the bags we tapped into in the album.”

The single follows their recent release “Bags” and the surprise drop of the “L Train Vintage” video, directed by Nolan Busalacchi and Jadeja McFarlane. Shot on location at Coney Island while the park was open, the visual mirrors the track’s playful and surreal energy.

Before You Press Play marks a new chapter for both artists, showcasing the mutual trust and deep creative bond they’ve built both online and off. Meeting as teenagers raised on SoundCloud, message boards, and Discord, the pair share an encyclopedic love of global music that’s evident in their genre-spanning sound and sample-heavy production.

The album combines osquinn’s trailblazing hyperpop-adjacent roots with FearDorian’s cinematic, post-genre approach. Known as an early pioneer of the digicore scene that birthed artists like Jane Remover, glaive, Brakence, and Glitch Gum, osquinn rose to cult status with viral SoundCloud hits such as the dreamy existential “I Don’t Want That Many Friends in the First Place” (80M+ streams), the introspective “ok im cool” (23M+ streams), and the generation-defining “bad idea.” Over time, she’s expanded her sonic palette through acclaimed projects like Drive-By Lullabies (2021), quinn (2022), stars fell on trench (2025), and lowlife (2025). Her work blends confessional lyricism with bold experimentation, weaving jazz flourishes and electronic oddities into heartfelt narratives.

FearDorian, one of the underground’s most in-demand producers, has built worlds for Surf Gang, xaviersobased, NolanBeRollin, Polo Perks, RiTchie, and BabyxSosa. In 2024, he stepped into his own as a solo artist with his self-titled debut and collaborative tape A Dog’s Chance (with Polo Perks, AyooLii). His 2025 projects Leaving Home and Out the Past With a Window earned praise for their diaristic lyricism and genre-bending production, with highlights like the woozy groove of “I.V.,” the spaced-out collaboration “Las Vegas” with osquinn, and the blown-out, low-end ragers “Gotta Be” and “Pray 4 the People,” recorded DIY-style in his mom’s car.

Both artists have been championed by Pitchfork, NoBells, The FADER, Business Insider, The New York Times, and more. Together, they’ve crafted Before You Press Play as a fearless statement—a record that doesn’t chase trends; it sets them. Expect a body of work full of bass-heavy ambiance, distorted melodies, warped samples, and raw lyrical vulnerability.

With its mix of beauty, madness, and genre-defying ambition, Before You Press Play is poised to become one of the underground’s most defining projects of the year.
