Dallas-Fort Worth’s heavy music underground is getting a new jolt of chaos from Empty Shell Casing, the six-piece collective announcing their debut mixtape, UNLIMITED. Due October 9 via Deep Love Recordings, the snarling six-track project serves as an introduction to the band’s maximalist approach to heavy music, blending crushing instrumentation, electronic textures, rap-rock grooves, and metalcore intensity into something distinctly their own.
Alongside the mixtape announcement, Empty Shell Casing have unveiled “MT,” the first taste of UNLIMITED. The explosive new track wastes little time making an impression, opening with hellhound-like electronic textures before erupting into a scratchy, heavy swing that showcases the group’s ability to move between electronic atmosphere and unrelenting heaviness.
The band describes their sound as “swagged-out metal,” a style built around the innate groove of rap-rock, the cavernous low end and rhythmic intensity associated with electronic genres such as techno and dubstep, and the serrated blast-beat breakdowns of metalcore.
The result is a volatile hybrid that occupies a space few other acts in the American heavy music underground are exploring. Rather than settling into a single genre, Empty Shell Casing use each influence as another tool in their arsenal, creating music that feels equally at home in a mosh pit, a warehouse, or a late-night club.
Formed in 2024, Empty Shell Casing introduced themselves with their debut EP, And Slowly…As I Turn My Back. The group followed it with the 2025 two-track release Empty, featuring the ferocious singles “Grasp” and “Push Away.” The project also marked their first release through Deep Love Recordings, setting the stage for the more expansive sonic world they are preparing to unveil with UNLIMITED.
The band will celebrate the release of “MT” tonight at Tulips in their hometown of Fort Worth, performing alongside I Promised The World, Rosasharin, Since My Beloved, and Fifteen Rhema.

The momentum will continue into October when Empty Shell Casing take their chaotic live show to Furnace Fest in Birmingham before joining SPY for a run of select dates. The upcoming shows include stops in Detroit, Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Denver, Portland, Seattle, and more.
With UNLIMITED, Empty Shell Casing appear ready to push their “swagged-out metal” concept even further, combining the aggression of heavy music with the physicality and rhythmic instincts of electronic and rap-driven sounds.
UNLIMITED arrives October 9 via Deep Love Recordings. “MT” is out now.
