French-Brazilian producer, pianist and live electronic artist Ella Romand continues to expand the space between classical musicianship and modern electronic music with her latest release, a new remix of Husa & Zeyada’s “More Love.” Taking the original’s slow-burning indie electronic character and pushing it toward the dancefloor, Ella adds melodic textures, organic rhythms, house-driven piano chords and live instrumentation to create a more upbeat interpretation without losing the hypnotic quality of the original.
Based in Miami, Ella Romand has spent more than a decade developing a musical identity shaped by her Brazilian heritage, classical piano training and experience across production, composition and live performance. Her sound moves naturally through Deep, Organic, Afro and Melodic House, while her performances incorporate keys and synthesizers to create a more hands-on approach to the traditional electronic set.
For “More Love,” that combination of musicianship and electronic production became central to the remix. Rather than completely reworking the track, Ella builds on its existing atmosphere, introducing a groove that gives the song a stronger club presence while allowing its original vocals and character to remain at the forefront.
“When I first heard ‘More Love’, I immediately connected with the track and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it to bring it into a more club vibe. I added a groovy bassline using the Moog Subsequent 37 and housey piano chords to keep the energy moving, while building on the original track and catchy vocals. I wanted the remix to feel uplifting and danceable, while still maintaining the original hypnotic indie dance character.”
The musical foundation behind Ella’s work began long before electronic production entered the picture. She first discovered the piano at five years old in southern Brazil, learning her earliest notes by ear before going on to develop her skills through classical training. At the same time, Brazilian and Pop music helped shape her early musical perspective.
Electronic music soon became another important influence. After discovering artists and projects such as Sasha’s “Involver,” Ella became increasingly interested in the possibilities of electronic production. A move to Curitiba at 16 brought her closer to the city’s club culture and eventually encouraged her to pursue music production professionally.
Her studies later took her from Brazil to San Diego, where she pursued a degree in Music, before continuing at Florida International University in Miami, specialising in Music Technology. Along the way, she expanded her understanding of recording, composition and production while becoming increasingly involved in Miami’s electronic music community.
That local scene provided an early turning point. After winning Electric Pickle’s mix competition, Ella went on to secure a residency at Do Not Sit On The Furniture, giving her an opportunity to further develop both her sound and her approach to live performance.
Since then, her career has expanded well beyond the club. Ella has performed at Ultra Music Festival, SXM Festival, Lightning In A Bottle, Cityfox Live, III Points and Burning Man, while appearing at venues including Brooklyn Mirage and Superior Ingredients in New York, Vagalume in Tulum, The Great Northern in San Francisco, and Cova Santa in Ibiza.
Live instrumentation has remained one of the defining elements of that journey. In 2015, Ella began incorporating keys and electronic instrumentation into her DJ performances through her work with electronic trio Dsided, eventually carrying that approach into her solo project. Her background in composition also led to a collaboration with the acclaimed New World Symphony, where she co-produced, composed and performed alongside more than 80 musicians in a project connecting classical and electronic music.
That same versatility has allowed Ella to share lineups with artists including Nora En Pure, Bob Moses, Sébastien Léger, Lee Burridge, Francis Mercier, Rodriguez Jr., Eli & Fur, Nick Warren, Damian Lazarus and WhoMadeWho. Her productions have appeared on labels including Manual Music, Go Deeva, Minds Alike, Redolent and Husa Sounds, among others.
Beyond her own music, Ella has also created a platform for other artists through Ellaments. Originally launched as a radio project during the pandemic livestream era, Ellaments has grown into a broader community built around music, live performance and immersive creative experiences, with more than 500,000 plays across its radio platform.
The project has also expanded into events that bring together electronic musicians, live instrumentalists, visual artists, painters and local vendors. Through Ellaments, Ella continues to support emerging artists and creative initiatives, including projects with a focus on sustainability, while creating spaces where electronic music can exist alongside other forms of artistic expression.
With her remix of Husa & Zeyada’s “More Love,” Ella Romand brings many of those influences into a single release. The result is a version that pushes the original toward the dancefloor while retaining its atmospheric core, reflecting the balance between organic musicianship and electronic production that has become central to Ella’s artistic identity.
