British singer, songwriter, and producer Elderbrook returns with a deeply emotive new single—a modern interpretation of Kim Carnes’ 1981 classic “Bette Davis Eyes.” Recorded intimately in a hotel room as part of his ongoing YouTube series Hotel Room Sessions, the track showcases Elderbrook’s dusky, expressive vocals over minimalist, organic instrumentation. Subtle instrumental layers bloom as the song progresses, enveloping his voice and transforming the cover into a feel-good, sing-along-ready rendition that lets the lyrics shine with renewed warmth and depth.

“Bette Davis Eyes” follows on the heels of Elderbrook’s recent standout singles, including “Teardrop” with Jan Blomqvist (October 2025) and “Waterfall” with Ahmed Spins (April 2025), building momentum ahead of a series of highly anticipated live performances.

“I’ve been doing these Hotel Room Sessions for years now,” Elderbrook explains. “Whenever I’m traveling for shows, I end up with so much extra time in hotel rooms, so I thought I’d find something productive to do. The Bette Davis Eyes cover stood out to me, and people really connected with it, which brings us here. This is the first Hotel Room Session that I have released outside of YouTube.”

Elderbrook is a Grammy and Ivor Novello-nominated multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter known for his genre-blending, emotive sound. He first rose to international prominence with the 2017 hit “Cola,” a collaboration with CamelPhat, and has since released three acclaimed albums: Why Do We Shake in the Cold? (2020), Little Love (2023), and Another Touch (2024), collectively amassing over 2 billion streams worldwide.

Renowned for his dynamic live performances, Elderbrook has toured with Jungle, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and ODESZA, performing at iconic stages including Coachella’s Sahara Stage and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. His collaborations span leading artists such as Diplo, Black Coffee, Vintage Culture, and Bob Moses, solidifying his position as a forward-thinking, boundary-pushing talent in electronic music.

With “Bette Davis Eyes,” Elderbrook once again demonstrates his ability to reinterpret classics through a modern, intimate lens, blending vulnerability, technical mastery, and emotional resonance.
