Miami electronic artist and entrepreneur Eddy Palermo is set to redefine the limits of live performance and endurance with the launch of BPMATHON, an ambitious world-first challenge that will see him complete a 50-kilometer run while performing a continuous live DJ set.
Scheduled for August 8, 2026, BPMATHON combines Palermo’s passions for electronic music and endurance sports in an event designed to inspire healthier lifestyles while supporting a meaningful community cause.
The challenge will take place along The Underline, Miami’s 10-mile linear park and urban trail stretching from Brickell to Dadeland. Built beneath the city’s Metrorail, The Underline has become a thriving public space dedicated to recreation, wellness, and community engagement. To make the feat possible, Palermo will perform using a custom-built DJ booth mounted on a self-pushed wheeled rig, allowing him to mix live throughout the entire 50K course.
Beyond its record-setting ambitions, BPMATHON serves as a fundraiser for Friends of The Underline, a Miami nonprofit committed to transforming public spaces into destinations that encourage healthier, more active lifestyles. Through programs that promote running, cycling, walking, and outdoor recreation, the organization aims to help people disconnect from the pressures of modern life and reconnect with their communities.
Adding another dimension to the event, Palermo‘s event brand ZENSKI will host a series of pop-up party activations along the route. Designed to energize runners and spectators alike, the experience will transform portions of the course into immersive electronic music environments while showcasing ZENSKI’s signature blend of creative production, inclusive experiences, and female-forward lineups. Since launching in 2024, the Miami-based platform has become known for fostering community through music and innovative event concepts.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the challenge, Palermo said:
“BPMATHON is the fusion of endurance running with the magic of music. The idea came about when I saw videos online of people running 5Ks while DJing, and I said to myself, ‘Why not run 50K?’ This is a real challenge because running 50K alone is difficult, and DJing for seven hours without running is difficult. Doing both at the same time will definitely push me to a new limit.”
Expected to last approximately seven hours, BPMATHON demands exceptional physical endurance and mental focus. Maintaining a live DJ performance while completing an ultramarathon presents a unique test of concentration, stamina, and resilience unlike anything previously attempted.
Born in Miami to Cuban and Italian parents and raised in Weston, Florida, Palermo has spent years balancing entrepreneurship, music, and endurance athletics. Inspired by early experiences attending Ultra Music Festival and nights at Club Space, he built a career around electronic music while simultaneously pursuing long-distance racing. Between 2020 and 2025, he completed 14 endurance events, including seven Ironman competitions and seven marathons, experiences that laid the foundation for the discipline behind BPMATHON.
Speaking about the project’s broader purpose, Palermo added:
“The deeper purpose behind this is that music and running are both huge passions of mine, and there’s nothing more I want to do than make a positive impact on the world through music. If this inspires even just one person to pursue their passions or start running, it’s already a success.”
At its heart, BPMATHON is about demonstrating what can happen when passion, perseverance, and purpose intersect. More than a one-day endurance challenge, the initiative represents the beginning of a larger global movement that aims to unite music, wellness, and community through future BPMATHON events around the world.
The inaugural event is supported by partners including ZENSKI, AlphaTheta, MIAFMTV, Orbit Baby, StrollRunner, and Buzz Bomb, with additional partners expected to be announced ahead of the challenge.
