I am still unsure what I was thinking when I decided that arriving in Las Vegas for EDC Week on Wednesday, May 15th was a good idea. I did not stop running around since I landed that day! All of a sudden I looked at the calendar and it was Rave Day! The moment we all have been anticipating had arrived! Next year I will not be arriving as early, not that is wasn’t 100% epic, that’s just it… I needed to sleep by the time Friday came around! However, I kept telling myself on repeat “Sleep when you’re dead baby girl…”. Let me throw you a recap of what I got myself into during my adventure in Vegas!
Once I landed on Wednesday at 7 A.M. I went directly to my hotel near the airport. My room was not ready yet, which I had assumed prior to arrival. I checked my bags and made my way to The Luxor Hotel. One of my favorite rave clothing stores, iHeartRaves, was hosting a pop-up shop for the entire week! I was able to pick up my online order from there; they even offered free shipping! As I was setting up guestlist for Illenium’s show at Hakkasan later that night, I was graciously offered the opportunity to check out Chris Lake kicking off the EDC Week pool parties. It was at that moment that I realized I did not know what the fuck I was getting myself into.
I have never really done the Vegas party thing. So you can understand how mind-blown I was. Walking into Marquee that day and seeing how busy it was really got me hyped for what was ahead of me. The party was popping and everyone was talking about who they were excited to see over the weekend. A couple of nights later, I was set out for an unforgettable packed schedule of debauchery! I started with stopping by the Lunchbox Block Party in Downtown Las Vegas! If you do not know who Lunchbox is, stay tuned for my review of this amazing anti-theft hydration pack! After making a pit stop there, I quickly ran off to catch a small portion of Rufus Du Sol at Encore Night Swim.
Although it was Las Vegas the weather was unbearably cold so, I quickly dashed off to Kaos, Palms new Dayclub and Nightclub– What a gorgeous venue! I arrived with enough time to catch the ending of Armin Van Burren just before Gorgon City took over for After Hours. I was so excited that I even managed to make it seeing the show started at 3:30 am! Whaaaat! Vegas you wild… Gorgon City stood true to their extravagant performances filled with high energy, and captivating crowd interaction. Somehow I always find myself in the DJ booth, however, was too focused on the amazing show to even meet the men behind it all! Bing one of the only artist to play a live set for the EDC Las Vegas 2019 Festival totally set them apart! If you missed them, you missed out on a one of a kind experience. This show was by far my favorite show of the week! I recommend making sure to catch them the next time they are near you! Overall, my EDC Week adventures are ones for the memory books and I am extremely thankful for all of you that made it possible!
