EDC Orlando | With So Many Firsts This Year, the Word Virgin Comes to Mind!

by The Freaks - Staff

Yo, there’s a lot of things to say about the lineup Insomniac just dropped for Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando. There is a lot to say about all the first happening this year too. let’s get to it!

So, If you didn’t catch Night Owl Radio last night when Pasquale Rotella blazed through a 30-minute mix announcing the line-up, don’t worry, we got all the information for you right here.

I mean, Insomniac is no stranger to waiting for the perfect time to drop a line-up but at this point, Electric Daisy Carnival is less than 90 days away and Insomniac has gone pretty crazy with this one.  First off, this is Insomniacs biggest lineup for EDC Orlando ever, which makes sense seeing that EDC Orlando is extended to three days this year.

This is particularly exciting for those people who don’t necessarily want to make a massive trip to EDC Las Vegas. We now have a slightly smaller alternative without missing out on the absolute headliner vibe Insomniac produces. I’m fucking stoked myself, actually. Of course, there is still not going to be any camping so make sure you book your hotels accordingly.

In addition, Insomniac is gracing us with some artists at EDC Orlando for the first time over twenty fresh artists will be hitting the stages.  If you haven’t been paying attention to the careers of Cray or Fisher, Gorgon City or techno crossover god i_o, you have been missing out. EDC Orlando will be a great watering hole to wet your fee and expand your musical horizons…I’m talking to you bass heads and headbangers…hahaha jk, but seriously.

More and more we are seeing the trend of actual dance music brands and labels taking over stages and that trend continues at EDC Orlando this year. Dreamstate will be hosting Trance powerhouse VII Crew. This is pretty special as this will be the only VII Crew Collective appearance this year in the United States.  Basscon will be dropping their hardest sounds in Florida for the first time. (I’m fucking giddy!!!!) Drumcode and La La Land will be taking over neonGarden, and none other than Kaskade brings it all to kineticField. BassRush and Insomniac Music Group will also have curated experiences throughout the weekend. So there is that too.

I think at this point we have all become very familiar with the Stage production that Insomniac delivers,  but for some reason, if you’re not it is some of the best in the world if not the best in the world. Knowing that the stereoBloom stage is going to be traveling across the country to make it to Orlando day blue has me really excited. The stripped-down truss design gives me that old-school rave feel and I dig that.

And, if by chance at EDC Las Vegas you didn’t catch the debut of ANIMA, the beautiful wooden sculpture of a woman’s face and her outstretched hands, she will also be making the trip to Florida for her first EDC Orlando.

7 meter high, wood vaneer over formed fibre glass structure. 52 semeter glass floor terrarium.
The goal was to create space for people to enjoy. The glass floor would create this conversation between the micro and macro world with members of the public finding themselves in-between these two worlds. The natural organic feel of the statue soft amber light created a warm serene space.

So look, if I’m going to be real with you, Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando for me is a must-go this year. If you haven’t picked up your tickets already, click the flyer below.
See you soon headliners!
