EDC Las Vegas Goes Virtual With 3-Day Live Stream

by The Freaks - Staff

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, live streams have become king. With festivals being canceled left and right, major artists and event organizers are now hosting virtual raves to help the Electronic Dance Music scene stay hopeful and entertained. EDC Las Vegas, owned by Insomniac, is no different.

Earlier this month, Insomniac made the choice to postpone the 2020 edition of EDC Las Vegas to October. While many ravers are bummed about the change, the organization came up with a virtual event to hold us over until we can dance together in person again. Taking place on the original May dates, the EDC Las Vegas Rave-a-Thon will be hosted by Insomniac owner Pasquale Rotella and will be built around the spirit of the electric festival.

While there is no line-up out yet, we’re anticipating it to feature some pretty big names. The virtual event for EDC Las Vegas follows the wildly popular Rave-a-Thons by Nocturnal Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, and Middlelands. Each garnered millions of views and showcased artists like Audien, BlackGummy, Duke Dumont, Jason Ross, and Borgore. The sets were decorated to perfection and even Rotella dressed up according to the theme.

The EDC Las Vegas live stream will feature multiple stages, multiple channels, exclusive artist interviews, and more. Given this is the 10th year anniversary for EDC, we’re thinking the live stream will be bigger than any they’ve held before. It will take place on May 15th-17th on their Twitch and YouTube channels.
