Fresh off a sold-out North American tour that hit Denver, Montreal, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco, NYC, and Toronto, Don Diablo unveils a new chapter under his CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ alias with the Monstercat debut single “Amsterdam.”
A high-energy, drum & bass-driven cut infused with cinematic melodies, grime influences, and distorted vocal textures, “Amsterdam” marks a bold sonic shift for the Dutch trailblazer. The release also doubles as a love letter to his hometown, arriving ahead of Don’s first Amsterdam performance since 2018 — an intimate Paradiso show on September 19, trading festival-scale production for a throwback to his roots.
“This project has become one of the most exciting creative journeys for me this year. ‘Amsterdam’ is emotional, high-energy, and a heartfelt tribute to the city I grew up in and still deeply love. Honestly, this might be my favorite CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ record so far,” says Don Diablo.
The new alias isn’t a mask but a reset — a space for genre-defying, sharp, modern productions outside his signature four-on-the-floor sound. It’s another highlight in a prolific year that’s already seen a collab with Nelly Furtado, a debut on Sweat It Out, and the 10-year anniversary of HEXAGON.
With festival appearances ahead at Sziget, Untold, Medusa, plus Ibiza and Barcelona dates, and his continued reign as one of the world’s most forward-thinking DJs, Don Diablo — currently ranked #15 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 — proves once again that he’s as much a visionary as he is a hitmaker.
