fabric Records has tapped visionary tastemaker DJ Tennis for the next installment of its long-running and highly respected mix compilation series, fabric presents. Set for full release on February 13, fabric presents DJ Tennis highlights his meticulous curatorial approach while also featuring two brand-new original tracks, further blurring the line between DJ, producer, and storyteller.
The announcement arrives alongside the release of the first single, “I Wanna Know,” a collaborative cut with London producer Ashee, out now via fabric Records. The track offers an early glimpse into the sonic world of the forthcoming mix, balancing hypnotic grooves with subtle psychedelia and refined sound design.
“fabric has always been a place where I shaped my taste—getting lost in the middle of the dancefloor, learning to really listen,” DJ Tennis explains. “This mix reflects how I approach music today: psychedelia, sound design, and groove shaped by early rave culture and an experimental, DIY background, beyond genres or formulas. Every track is something I would genuinely play in Room 1, and the cover of the mix says the same thing: a brain on a plate, memory, influence, and process, exposed.”
For more than 25 years, the fabric presents series has remained a cornerstone of electronic music culture, delivering forward-thinking mixes from some of the scene’s most influential voices. Past contributors include The Martinez Brothers, Andrew Weatherall, Surgeon, The Streets, Confidence Man, and many more. DJ Tennis now joins that lineage with a mix that captures his singular perspective and ongoing influence across the global electronic music landscape.
In addition to “I Wanna Know,” the compilation will also feature a second original track, “Hello Hello,” which will arrive alongside the full mix on February 13. Together, the release stands as both a reflection of DJ Tennis’ roots and a snapshot of his current creative vision, reinforcing fabric presents as a platform where boundary-pushing artists leave their mark on dance music history.
