Dion Timmer Shatters Expectations With Debut Album “Enter Achroma”

by The Freaks - Staff

As a young person who enjoys a decades-old genre, I rarely get to witness a legend in the making. Then there’s Dion Timmer, the 19-year-old Dutch producer, DJ, and legend in the making. His latest stride toward legend status being his new album on DeadbeatsEnter Achroma”, a seamless story from beginning to end, if you can spot it.

If you asked any teenage aspiring Dubstep producer what some of their goals are, on that list would be some of what Dion Timmer has accomplished before hitting 20 years old. With a few years of touring with Bass bosses like Excision and massive tracks under his belt, it was time for Dion Timmer’s debut masterpiece. “Enter Achroma” is a fluid, technicolor journey through subgenres of EDM that beautifully blends the story into every beat. Straying from Dubstep occasionally, Dion Timmer flexed his production range with features of Euro-House, Electronica, and Trance tunes. That’s not to say his Dubstep fits into one box, some tracks striking as heavy and others hauntingly ethereal, staying true to his vibrant-meets-viscous roots and fitting perfectly in with Deadbeats. Another thing to note that makes “Enter Achroma” versatile are the features and collaborations, bringing some familiar and some fresh names such as Sullivan King, Micah Martin, Devon Dalgarno, and Tasha Baxter. This album being labeled anything parallel to “Achroma” is a comedic twist as each track is a journey through Dion Timmer’s hyper-neon world.

It’s difficult to believe this is just the beginning for Dion Timmer, even further, a debut album. Loyal fans of Timmer trusted that when the time came, his debut would be packed cover to cover with sonic magic, and he delivered, then exceeded those expectations. I’m excited to see the world that Dion Timmer creates visually to carry the story of the album. Check out Dion Timmer’s “Enter Achroma” from Deadbeats down below and strap in for the journey.
