by Press Release

Today marks the release of ASHRR SOUNDSYSTEM’s remix of “Different Kind of Life” on the renowned UK label 20/20 Vision Recordings, showcasing the Los Angeles-based indie dance supergroup’s electrifying prowess. Comprised of GRAMMY-nominee Ethan Allen, multi-talented musician Josh Charles, and vocalist Steven Davis, ASHRR epitomizes a fusion of diverse talents spanning pop, rock, R&B, and big band genres.

With a blend of expertise and influences, ASHRR SOUNDSYSTEM infuses “Different Kind Of Life” with a contagious Saturday night energy, crafting an extended dance floor groove. The remix features dubbed-out vocals, radiant synths, reverberating guitar riffs, and a captivating bassline, immersing listeners into the club-friendly ambiance of the ASHRR universe.

Delving into their creative process, ASHRR shares insights into their studio journey, reinventing the track from the ground up with pulsating basslines, house-inspired drums, and salsoul percussion, infusing a dance-punk vibe into the mix.

Accompanying ASHRR’s rendition is a remix by esteemed Italian producer/DJ Massimiliano Pagliara, with both versions receiving acclaim from industry veterans like Kruder and Dorfmeister, Nightmares on Wax, Glenn Underground, Yuksek, and Bill Brewster.

Emerging from the depths of the Los Angeles music scene in 2018, ASHRR quickly captivated audiences with their eclectic blend of electronic soul, space disco, and indie dance, capturing the essence of late summer melancholy and the allure of late-night adventures.

Building on their initial success, ASHRR expanded their sonic repertoire with the release of their debut album, “Oscillator,” praised by critics for its fusion of catchy hooks and rhythmic sophistication reminiscent of British new wave.

Following a series of singles during the pandemic era, ASHRR found a new home with Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision, releasing “Talking In Your Sleep.” Collaborations with dub legend Scientist and Felix Dickinson on remixes for “Fizzy” further solidified their standing, earning acclaim from KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Continuing their momentum, ASHRR recently set the scene ablaze with “What’s Been Turning You On,” featuring remixes by System Olympia and ASHRR SOUNDSYSTEM, showcasing their boundless creativity and infectious energy.
