Desert Hearts have teamed up with Baltimore-born singer, songwriter, guitarist, and genre-blending artist Life On Planets for their uplifting new collaboration, “This Is The Place,” available now via Desert Hearts.
Built around the sense of unity that has defined the Desert Hearts movement since its founding in 2012, “This Is The Place” combines the trio’s signature deep, melodic tech house grooves with Life On Planets’ soulful vocal delivery, infectious songwriting, and live guitar work. “We wrote the instrumental for this track and knew it had a genuinely positive, feel-good vibe,” says Mikey Lion. “We hit up Life On Planets and developed a concept for lyrics about belonging to a community that encourages freedom of self-expression. He came back to us with this amazing hook and verses that fit the vibe so perfectly. And now we have one of our favorite songs we’ve ever made.”
The release arrives during an important new chapter for Desert Hearts, who recently unified under a single artist identity after spending more than a decade cultivating one of dance music’s most recognizable brands through their label, festivals, and global community.
