It’s that time of the year where we are getting hit with all kinds of incredible announcements for New Years’ events across the country! Relentless Beats is returning with their Decadence New Years’ Eve two day festival happening in Chandler, Arizona. Relentless Beats has worked tirelessly over the past years to create a year-long experience for their attendees and this year was no exception. They have just closed out an excellent festival weekend with Goldrush being a big hit! They do an excellent job of marketing in the Phoenix Valley, but they take a special approach when delivering the very first bits of news for their massive New Year festival. Playing off their “wild wild west” theme, RB has made it a tradition to announce their first artists via “WANTED” posters on display throughout the entire Rawhide Western Town, where Goldrush is hosted. I personally love this because we get advanced news before it hits the internet as loyal RB attendees. I find it much more exciting to come across the announcements in person rather than a notification update on an event page.
We have six big acts slated to ring in the new year! The most notable, in my opinion, is the return of Skrillex after his performance quite literally overflowed the mainstage tent at last year’s Decadence AZ. I’m hopeful that RB will be able to provide a space capable of packing in his huge following! RB has done a great job of listening to its festival-goers and implementing legitimate changes over the past year. Earlier this year in April at Phoenix Lights, the issue of sound bleed over was completely solved in this year’s layout. This was also apparent at Goldrush with their efforts to minimize a massive dust issue and attendee bottleneck problem at the Hideout Stage. This year we were met with a wide-open stage and artificial turf which let the shufflers really let loose at the house stage!
BUT! Back to the Decadence announcements! Beyond Skrillex, we are set to enjoy a few other special performances. Illenium will be joining the Arizona crowd for New Years as a part of his Ascend tour, but will be treating us to a live set! We will also be seeing Tchami X Malaa hit us with a “No Redemption” set as a duo. To round out the first wave of artists announcements RB is bringing us Dillon Francis, Diplo, and Fisher. RB definitely brought out some heavy-hitting names in their first phase to draw in early interest!
As a seasoned veteran on both Decadence and Relentless Beats events, I’m bringing out a good deal of optimism that RB will respond well to past growing pains. Thomas Turner has already hinted at big changes this year! Two-day passes are already on sale with the anticipation of single-day tickets to be available in the future. This is a huge event that has been rapidly growing every year and it looks like Relentless Beats is gearing up for another explosive event!
