Monsters. Death. A hawk’s screech. In true horror fashion, DEATHPIXIE emerges this Halloween with her debut EP ASYLUM, out now via mau5trap. As the first major virtual artist in electronic music, she introduces her dark, twisted universe through six haunting tracks featuring Skylar Grey, Meryll, and deadmau5 himself.
In support of the release, DEATHPIXIE will make her groundbreaking live debut at Day of the deadmau5 on November 7 and 8 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado—an unprecedented performance merging physical and virtual worlds in real time. Skylar Grey will join her onstage to perform their EP standout, “Let You Lie.”
“Let You Lie” is a chilling descent into DEATHPIXIE’s underworld, with Skylar Grey’s haunting vocals gliding over an eerie, cinematic production. Known for her collaborations with Eminem, Jelly Roll, deadmau5, and Kaskade, Grey finds new depth within DEATHPIXIE’s sonic landscape. “When I first heard what DEATHPIXIE was creating, I was instantly drawn to the world she was building—it’s haunting, beautiful, and completely its own universe,” she shares. “‘Let You Lie’ felt like stepping into that underworld and finding something human in all the chaos. Performing it live at Red Rocks with her is going to be otherworldly.”
Another standout, “DIE & LIVE AGAIN,” sees DEATHPIXIE join forces with Dutch vocalist Meryll, whose collaborations with FISHER, Hardwell, and Afrojack have made her a rising force in the global dance scene. The track embodies DEATHPIXIE’s sinister aesthetic—diabolical, seductive, and impossible to forget. Alongside her spine-chilling reinterpretation of deadmau5’s 2010 classic “Raise Your Weapon” (titled “RAISE YOUR WEAPON – Requiem”), ASYLUM cements DEATHPIXIE as a visionary bridging electronic music and visual art in groundbreaking ways.
Fans attending Day of the deadmau5 can expect a full-scale audiovisual spectacle unlike anything before—massive visuals that blur the lines between organic and digital performance, curated within deadmau5’s conceptual five-hour set featuring testpilot, new music, and a mau5 drum & bass finale.
As mau5trap’s newest project, DEATHPIXIE represents the label’s next frontier—a dark, immersive odyssey where electronic storytelling, virtual identity, and human emotion converge.
