deadmau5 Drops ‘some ep’ and Reveals 2024 ‘Day of the deadmau5’ Show Dates

by Press Release

Amidst a world tour spanning from Bali to Helsinki and the construction of a new music studio for his upcoming artist album, electronic artist deadmau5 has curated a selection of distinctive tracks from his archives for his new EP, released today, July 19, on mau5trap. The four-song collection, titled some ep, features handpicked gems from deadmau5‘s personal production archive, now polished for fans to enjoy. This EP release coincides with the announcement and ticket sales for his popular ‘day of the deadmau5‘ seasonal shows in Chicago, Mexico City, Washington D.C., and for the first time, Puerto Rico this October. All dates are listed below, and tickets are available now.

Listen to deadmau5‘s some ep here.

some ep includes “Quezacotl,” which features symphonic-like chords that act as a call to arms, with a barrage of melodic synths taking flight—a true return to form with all the makings of a classic deadmau5 track. The song debuted during his sold-out ‘retro5pective: 25 years of deadmau5’ shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Brooklyn Mirage in NYC this past spring. The EP also includes the epic techno production “Wet” from his alter ego TESTPILOT (Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5). For his first TESTPILOT studio production since 2014, Zimmerman takes listeners on a journey through slippery twists and turns around dark corners of pulsating synths and four-on-the-floor beats. Other tracks on the EP include the big serve productions “Sever” and “Input Output,” the latter of which also debuted at his Brooklyn Mirage ‘retro5spective’ show.

The ‘day of the deadmau5‘ shows are known for their unique flair. From revered staples like “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,” “Strobe,” and Kx5‘s “Escape” to the material on some ep, deadmau5 will perform a unique set alongside state-of-the-art production and visuals with a spooky twist. Fans are encouraged to come in costume and showcase their custom-made mau5heads. For 2024, fans have the opportunity to catch both deadmau5 and/or TESTPILOT sets in each market and can expect a different lineup of mau5trap artists and friends joining the Halloween festivities.
