Day Zero will return to the jungles of Tulum on January 9, 2027, as Damian Lazarus once again transforms the region’s dense jungle landscape into one of electronic music’s most immersive and spiritually charged gatherings.

For a single night, the jungle becomes a surreal world suspended somewhere between ritual and rave, fantasy and ceremony. As dawn slowly rises through the canopy, Day Zero invites attendees into a sensory journey where hypnotic sound, large-scale visual installations, ceremonial performance, and nature itself merge into a singular experience unlike anything else in global dance music culture.

Since first emerging from the jungles of Tulum in 2012, Day Zero has cultivated a mythology entirely its own. More than a traditional festival, the gathering has become known for its deeply atmospheric world-building, where towering art structures rise from the forest floor, ritualistic performers drift through the crowd like living spirits, and marathon DJ sets unfold beneath shifting lights and dense jungle skies. Every aspect of the event is intentionally designed to heighten exploration, immersion, and emotional release.

At the center of the experience remains the curatorial vision of Damian Lazarus, whose work as both a DJ and founder of Crosstown Rebels has helped shape underground electronic music culture for nearly two decades. Through Day Zero, he continues to unite pioneering selectors, boundary-pushing live acts, and emerging global talent into a carefully constructed sonic narrative that evolves throughout the night and into sunrise.

While deeply rooted in the mystique of the Yucatán Peninsula, Day Zero has expanded into a growing global phenomenon over the past decade. Earlier this year, new editions launched in Brazil and Bali, each adapting the event’s core philosophy to the landscapes and cultural identities of their respective locations. From the coastal atmosphere of Brazil to the spiritual terrain of Bali, each gathering embraces local rhythms, environments, and traditions while maintaining the dreamlike ethos that defines the original Tulum experience.

Beyond the dance floor, the festival has also continued strengthening its environmental and community-focused initiatives through the Crosstown Consciousness program. Recent efforts led by Damian Lazarus and his team include the installation of solar-powered streetlights throughout Dos Ojos, support for turtle conservation projects along the Tulum coastline, organized beach cleanups, and donations to the local Titanes de Tulum youth soccer team.

Sustainability efforts have also become increasingly central to the festival’s identity. Since 2022, Day Zero has partnered with Mexican company PETGAS to convert festival plastic waste into biodegradable fuel used to help power onsite infrastructure. The event also maintains extensive recycling systems and enforces a strict no single-use plastics policy throughout the festival grounds.

Working closely with local Mayan leaders, Day Zero continues to honor the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region through ceremonial programming rooted in respect for the sacred land where the gathering takes place. The festival also remains committed to elevating regional electronic music culture through El Teatro, a stage dedicated entirely to Mexican artists and local underground talent.

Over the years, Day Zero has evolved into far more than a festival — becoming a global gathering point for travelers, artists, and dancers drawn toward the unique energy hidden deep within the Tulum jungle. On January 9, 2027, Damian Lazarus will once again invite that global community back beneath the canopy for another chapter in the festival’s ever-expanding mythology.

Tickets of Trust will become available June 2 at 11 a.m. Tulum time for pre-sale registrants, with general on-sale beginning at 3 p.m.
