British electronic music pioneer Dave Angel continues the rollout of his forthcoming album, A Time And Place, with the release of its second single, “Apocalypse.” Following the opening single “Réflexion,” featuring acclaimed trumpeter Steve Waterman, the new track takes a darker and more contemplative approach, reflecting on humanity, the state of the world, and the events unfolding around us.

Built around a compelling vocal sample referencing the movement of the Earth, Adam and Eve, and the impact of life on human beings, “Apocalypse” expands those ideas into a broader meditation on the world and its uncertain future. Drawing inspiration from concerns surrounding global destruction and the turbulent events taking place across the globe, the track establishes an important part of the conceptual foundation behind A Time And Place.

While “Réflexion” introduced the jazz influences, personal experiences, and human connections shaping Dave Angel’s forthcoming album, “Apocalypse” shifts the focus toward larger questions surrounding humanity and the direction of the planet. Rather than simply functioning as a club record, the track demonstrates Angel’s continued interest in using electronic music as a vehicle for observation, reflection, and commentary.

Apocalypse” arrives via seminal Belgium-based label R&S Records, marking the second chapter in the campaign for A Time And Place. Angel’s relationship with R&S Records stretches back more than three decades, making the forthcoming album a significant return to the label that played a pivotal role in establishing him as one of the UK’s most respected electronic artists.

The new single also offers another glimpse into the expansive musical palette of A Time And Place. Although Dave Angel has long been associated with techno and electronic music, the forthcoming LP draws from a lifetime of musical experiences and influences, incorporating collaborations with legendary vocalist Robert Owens, guitarist Merv Carswell, Aurii Sky, and Steve Waterman.

The result promises to be a deeply varied record that reaches beyond the electronic foundations of Angel’s career while maintaining the exploratory spirit that has defined his work for decades.

With “Apocalypse,” Dave Angel continues to peel back the layers of A Time And Place, connecting decades of musical experience with reflections on the present moment. Dark, atmospheric, and conceptually driven, the single provides another window into an album shaped as much by personal history as it is by the rapidly changing world around him.
