Daniel Allan returns with a wave of high-octane emotion and genre-blending brilliance on his newest single, “Start to Slip,” a powerful collaboration with dynamic vocalist DEEGAN. Dropping June 27 via Breakaway, the track marks another bold step forward for the genre-defying producer, merging elements of 2-step, UK garage, speed house, and trance into a festival-ready anthem built to move hearts and feet.
“Start to Slip” shimmers with tension and catharsis. DEEGAN’s chant-like vocals echo like a mantra of personal breakthrough, layered over intricate percussion, melodic synth bursts, and a propulsive rhythm that captures the emotional rush of rising out of mental darkness. The result is both intimate and expansive—a track designed for personal liberation and collective release on the dancefloor.
“It’s a record about trying to connect with my 16-year-old self,” says Daniel Allan. “Sonically, it’s me trying to combine some of my early trance influences while staying true to my most recent taste in garage music.”
DEEGAN adds:
“It’s about coming out of a bad place mentally, finding the answers, and breaking through to the other side. The chanting, echoey vocals gave off this grandiose energy—like being at the top of a mountain and calling out to the rest of the world. I recorded these vocals specifically for Daniel to work on because I knew he’d do it justice.”
“Start to Slip” follows a wave of momentum for Daniel Allan, whose recent successes include the Billboard-charting single “I Just Need” and a global Hollister sync for his track “Better With You.” With major performances slated at Lollapalooza and HARD Summer, this single arrives as a defining summer anthem poised to elevate his rising profile even further.
Daniel Allan & DEEGAN’s “Start to Slip” is available on all platforms June 27 via Breakaway.
