Founded by Ben King, a lifelong tech entrepreneur and dance music enthusiast, Dancefloor was built to address the frustrations of navigating multiple platforms to track DJ performances.
“I wanted to build Dancefloor mostly for myself. It was annoying having to bounce around multiple apps, and it was surprisingly hard to find out when my favorite DJs were playing in my city. Since the app went live, the reaction has been incredible. Fans are really discovering so many new artists and events. There is so much we can do here to help fans and the wider dance community, and we’re just getting started,” says King.
The platform caters to three key groups, each with unique features. Fans can discover new DJs and events through a personalized feed, receive instant alerts for local shows, and engage with artists through Spotify, YouTube, Boiler Room, and SoundCloud integrations. Users can also sync their SoundCloud accounts to ensure they never miss performances from their followed artists.
For DJs, Dancefloor removes booking barriers by allowing promoters to identify and connect directly with rising artists through in-app booking contacts—eliminating the middleman.
