A new chapter in soulful house music begins this November as Cushy, a new imprint from the team behind Jackies Music Records, prepares to launch with ‘Love On The Line’ from Dantiez & Thando feat. Sedric Perry. Arriving November 6, the single introduces a label focused on vocal-driven house music, blending timeless grooves, memorable hooks, and warm production with an appeal that extends beyond the club.

Designed to complement the more club-focused identity of Jackies Music Records, Cushy will explore the more accessible and song-driven side of house and disco. The imprint places an emphasis on soulful vocals, strong songwriting, and productions that retain their dancefloor foundations while connecting with a broader audience. With upcoming releases planned from Mat.Joe, Hendrik Barsen, Inda Jani, and Ghezz, the label is already building a roster that will help establish its musical direction.

‘Love On The Line’ sets that vision in motion with an uplifting house production built around the chemistry between its collaborators. The track brings together Dantiez Saunderson and Thando with vocalist Sedric Perry, pairing a commanding vocal performance with an infectious groove and bright instrumentation. A standout brass section adds a celebratory edge, reinforcing the track’s connection to house and disco while giving the arrangement a distinctive character.

The record’s origins date back to 2024, when Dantiez shared an early demo with Thando. Drawn to the song’s potential, Thando began working with Dantiez to reshape the production and develop the track into its finished form. That process eventually led to Sedric Perry, a vocalist Thando had admired for some time and hoped to work with. After receiving the demo, Perry quickly found his place in the collaboration, delivering the vocal that helped bring the song’s emotional core into focus.

His performance anchors the production, balancing soulful intensity with the warmth that runs throughout the track. Rather than relying on a single hook or instrumental moment, ‘Love On The Line’ brings its elements together through a combination of expressive vocals, lively instrumentation, and steady house rhythms. The result is a feel-good record with enough musical depth to work on the dancefloor while remaining accessible in a more casual listening setting.

That balance makes the single a fitting introduction to Cushy. Its house foundations remain central, but the emphasis on melody, vocals, and song structure reflects the new imprint’s interest in records that can move between club culture and everyday listening without losing their identity.

For Thando, the release also carries a personal significance. Watching an early demo evolve through collaboration with Dantiez and Perry, ultimately becoming the first release on the new label, gives the track a place in both the artists’ creative development and the launch of Cushy.

The collaborators bring distinct backgrounds to the project. Detroit native Dantiez Saunderson draws on a musical foundation that spans Detroit techno and contemporary house. His releases have appeared on Defected, Toolroom, Armada, Realm, and KMS Records. He also contributed to Inner City’s 2020 comeback album, ‘We All Move Together,’ and continues to collaborate with his father, Kevin Saunderson, under the e-Dancer alias.

Thando, whose background connects an upbringing in New York City with South African roots, has developed a catalog spanning Fool’s Gold, Spinnin’, and Selected. His collaborations include Duck Sauce and Coco & Breezy, while his releases have received support from Diplo, Claptone, A-Trak, Jamie Jones, and Purple Disco Machine. More recently, he collaborated with David Penn and OFFAIAH on Toolroom’s Fool’s Paradise imprint.

Together, the three artists establish the sound and spirit of Cushy through a debut that prioritizes musical connection as much as dancefloor energy. With ‘Love On The Line’ arriving November 6, the new imprint begins its run by embracing the soulful, melodic side of house music while laying the groundwork for a wider release schedule in the months ahead.
