To celebrate the album’s , the band performed their new single “Show Pony” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and also delivered cosmic-inspired live renditions of “Creatures In Heaven” and “Show Pony” for Vevo. Dave Bayley, the band’s singer, songwriter, , and frontman, who wrote and produced the entire album, discussed the new album and its creation on CBS Mornings with Anthony Mason and on the Zach Sang Show with Zach Sang. He also reflected on the massive success of their 2020 album Dreamland and their breakthrough, RIAA Diamond Certified hit “Heat Waves,” which is now the 11th most-streamed song in Spotify’s history.

Leading up to the album’s release, Glass Animals performed a series of intimate, underplay pop-up shows for fans worldwide. The band is now set to embark on the North American leg of their “Tour Of Earth” starting August 7th in Charlotte, NC, performing in arenas and amphitheaters across the country. The tour includes sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden on August 13th and The Kia Forum on September 14th. I Love You So F***ing Much explores ten portraits of love in all its forms, making it Bayley’s most personal record to date. Each song delves into different aspects of love, from childhood observations to romance, hate, and heartbreak. The album’s expansive, retro-futuristic captures the “shapelessness of love.” The opening track, “Show Pony,” narrates the journey of a relationship from start to finish. Bayley explains, “Our first blueprints of love are the relationships we see and experience growing up. They aren’t always perfect, but they completely shape our understanding of love. That’s why I wanted ‘Show Pony’ to open the album. It throws you in at the deep end, but that’s life.”

This album follows the success of Dreamland from 2020, which sold over 12 million copies globally and featured “Heat Waves,” the record-breaking song that became the biggest international hit from a British band in nearly 30 years. “Heat Waves” was the first song to reach #1 with a single writer and producer since Pharrell’s “Happy,” leading to collaborations with major pop artists like Florence Welch. The creation of I Love You So F***ing Much was rooted in an existential crisis. Dave grappled with his newfound global stardom while the world was in lockdown. “Life can change dramatically, but sometimes you aren’t able to change as quickly on a personal level. You end up feeling like a spectator. And then you are asked and expected to be a certain type of person, a different person. But…I wasn’t sure how. It confused me to the point of not knowing who I was or if anything was real.” A dramatic storm in California during which Dave found himself isolated and facing an existential crisis, prompted introspection on love and human connection. Dave realized that “human connection and the love between us is much bigger, more important, and more complex than anything else.” This profound realization shaped the new album.

From their breakthrough hit to their cosmic fourth studio album, Glass Animals continue to captivate millions of fans with their unique sound and deep explorations of love. I Love You So F***ing Much marks the next chapter in their extraordinary journey.
