Charlotte de Witte | #WCW | KNTXT Tour

by The Freaks - Staff

One of the hardest working DJs and electronic music producers out there, Charlotte de Witte can be found almost every weekend playing sets in Europe as well as maintaining residencies, writing music, managing her own techno brand KNTXT and running her own radio show. Her performances of deep and dark techno sets draw crowds from all over the world but more impressive is her meteoric rise to fame as one of the most recognizable techno queens in the business. Her success is not a surprise as her mature and engaging DJ style commands attention as it draws you into a time warp where techno and the rhythm of the future collide.

Born in Flanders, 27-year-old de Witte became interested in electronic music when she was 16 years old and began visiting nightclubs to experience the music scene.  By 2010 she performed as a DJ in public for the first time and competed in DJ competitions winning the “Red Bull-Elektropedia” prize in 2011 getting her an invitation to play at Tomorrowland for the first time and garnering her a position of residency at local radio stations.  Eagerly taking on the creative task of composing her own music, de Witte begins to create her own sound by 2015 releasing her first two EPs, Observe and Slaves along with several popular techno mixes and two more EPs set to be released later this month.

Her performances at major festivals and raves have made her a well-known artist who can produce techno with dark and futuristic undertones. Ever pursuing that driving techno sound, Charlotte de Witte’s original music is as impressive as her sets, which just this year, featured appearances at Ultra Miami and Awakenings, and ADE. Equally appealing is her easy-going DJ style which captivates the crowd as she mesmerizes fans with an uncompromising techno exhibition meant to steer the listener into another dimension.

De Witte is going on tour this fall with her KNTXT showcase making stops at London, Paris, Antwerp, Milan, and Barcelona.
