Global nonprofit Change the Beat is expanding its mission to create new opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists in electronic music with a new remix competition alongside techno powerhouse Sara Landry and her label, HEKATE Records. The competition invites emerging producers from around the world to rework Sara Landry and Alex Farell’s “Angel Dust,” with the winning submission set to be considered for an official release on HEKATE Records.
Beyond the potential label release, the competition will offer a selection of prizes from Native Instruments. First place will receive a Komplete 15 Collector’s Edition, while second place will take home Komplete 15 Ultimate and third place will receive Komplete 15 Standard. Participants will also have access to Komplete Start, a free collection of instruments and effects from Native Instruments.
Open globally to aspiring producers who identify as female or gender-expansive, the competition provides emerging artists with a direct opportunity to put their music in front of established artists, labels, and industry decision-makers. Submissions will remain open until Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST, with complete contest rules, details, and stems available through the LabelRadar contest portal.
The latest initiative arrives during a significant period of growth for Change the Beat, following the organisation’s recent commitment to support 300 women and gender-expansive electronic music artists in securing label opportunities by 2028. To date, the organisation has facilitated more than 100 label opportunities and signings through its growing network of artists, labels, and industry partners.
Sydney Blu, founder of Change the Beat, says the collaboration with Sara Landry and HEKATE Records reflects the organisation’s broader goal of creating meaningful pathways into the electronic music industry.

The Angel Dust remix competition forms part of Change the Beat’s broader Remix Contest Programme, which has been designed to give emerging artists access to official remix and release opportunities through partnerships with established electronic music artists and labels.
Recent collaborators have included SIPPY, DeadBeats, Westend, Trace Amounts, and Sara Landry’s HEKATE Records, while previous partners include Drumcode, mau5trap, Armada Music, Anjunadeep, Anjunabeats, HE.SHE.THEY, Insomniac Records, Nervous Records, and Toolroom Records.
Artists connected to the programme have also contributed to projects involving electronic music figures such as deadmau5, Nicole Moudaber, Eli & Fur, Crystal Waters, Ultra Naté, Maya Jane Coles, DJ Minx, VNSSA, Giorgia Angiuli, and Azzecca.
Beyond remix competitions, Change the Beat continues to develop its artist-focused initiatives. Its Demo Room programme provides participating labels with a platform to showcase their sound and A&R priorities while giving emerging producers a direct route to submit music, receive feedback, and connect with industry decision-makers. Meanwhile, the organisation’s Going Global programme is designed to help artists develop sustainable international careers.
The organisation is also preparing to announce an international Change the Beat tour, bringing its artist development and industry-access programmes to cities throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Each stop will combine live programming with practical workshops and industry panels, giving artists opportunities to develop their skills, learn from industry professionals, and build relationships within their local electronic music communities.
Upcoming dates will include influential destinations such as fabric in London, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and Marquee New York, further establishing Change the Beat’s presence across some of the world’s most important electronic music hubs.
Through workshops, masterclasses, mentorship programmes, club events, industry partnerships, and career development initiatives, Change the Beat provides practical support covering music production, DJ performance, branding, and the business side of the music industry. Its programmes continue to expand throughout the UK, US, Canada, and Europe, creating additional opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists to develop their careers and connect with the global electronic music community.
The “Angel Dust” remix competition represents another important step in that mission, connecting emerging producers with Sara Landry, HEKATE Records, and a wider network of electronic music professionals. By combining a potential label release with industry access and professional development, Change the Beat continues to build pathways for the next generation of electronic music talent to move from emerging artists to established voices within the scene.
