Cazzu, the Latin GRAMMY®-nominated Argentine artist, unveils “Jujuy Estrellado,” a new chapter that deepens the world she first introduced on her album Latinaje. Rooted in heritage yet framed through a contemporary lens, the release sees the genre-defying star return to her origins while reshaping tradition on her own terms.

Drawing inspiration from the carnival celebrations of Jujuy, her home province, Cazzu transforms a deeply embedded cultural ritual into a modern statement of identity. Central to this reinterpretation is her embodiment of La Diabla, a reimagining of the traditionally male Devil figure. Through this shift, she places women at the forefront of today’s folkloric narrative—recasting the archetype as a symbol of rupture, power, and self-definition.

The single arrives alongside a cinematic video filmed in Jujuy, grounding the project in the landscapes that shaped her artistry. The visual follows Julieta as she moves from the familiarity of a neighborhood restaurant into a dreamlike journey across the province’s hills. Nostalgia-tinged cumbia blends with northern Argentine arrangements, brought to life under the production of Nico Cotton, creating a sonic palette that bridges regional tradition and modern ambition.

As momentum builds around “Jujuy Estrellado,” Cazzu prepares to return to the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires on February 28. She will also launch her first U.S. headlining tour, with multiple dates selling out within days. The run includes stops at YouTube Theater in Los Angeles and The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, underscoring the international demand surrounding her Latinaje era. Without abandoning her regional essence, she continues to command some of the world’s most iconic stages.

The release follows a wave of accolades, including two Premio Lo Nuestro nominations for Female Pop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for her hit “Con Otra.” The single achieved Platinum certification in Argentina and Mexico, marking the biggest debut in history for an Argentine female solo artist.

In 2025, Cazzu further expanded her artistic reach with the publication of her first book, Perreo, una revolución. Presented at the Buenos Aires Book Fair, the bestselling essay examines urban music through a feminist lens, reclaiming perreo as a political act rooted in autonomy and empowerment. More than a personal reflection, the book functions as a theoretical extension of the Latinaje era, reinforcing La Jefa’s role as one of the most influential cultural voices of her generation.

With “Jujuy Estrellado,” Cazzu continues to evolve the narrative she began with Latinaje—bridging folklore and futurism while amplifying a distinctly Argentine voice on the global stage.
